Chapter 18
Melanie POV
Within a few hours Nana Mary woke up. I was so happy she was awake.
"Nana, thank goodness your awake! I was so worried; what happen??"
"My child, I'm happy to see you. It was your father."
Just as I heard that, I felt Adrian's body behind me.
"Everything is going to be okay, he's going to pay for everything he's done."
Adrian didn't leave my side. I appreciated everything he has done. He's been so attentive with Nana and I.
"Why is he like that? I've never done anything, but obey him. He told me he wouldn't do anything if I would do what he'd said." She said with tears.
"Oh my child, I'm fine. I would do this for you several times, just to see you happy."

Adrian POV
Melanie hugged her carefully and I decided to talk to her about what she had mentioned about her father. Apparently, she didn't know the whole situation on why her father wanted to see her.
"Melanie, lets go get something to drink. Nana Mary has to get some rest."
"What if he comes back, let me stay here, please."
"My security guards are outside, come on you haven't eaten anything, let's get you something, please."
Melanie and I were at the cafeteria within a few minutes after we ordered I had her sit in the table and went back with the food.
After we were done eating I grabbed her hand.
"Melanie, earlier in the room you had mentioned why your father had wanted to see you. Do you have any clue why he wants to see you."
"No, I don't. Your not returning me back to him are you."
"No Sweetheart, I would never do that."
"I want to be honest with you and have no secrets between us."
"What is it?"
"Two months ago, your father came to my house asking for a few months to pay me what I he owed me. He told me to secure the deal, it would be better if you and I were married. Nana Mary, heard him on the phone, and it turns out your mother has an inheritance for you whenever you would get married, you could access all of that money and properties."
"I didn't know anything."
"What your father wanted to do is have you sign your rights and transfer him all that inheritance. He was going to pay me by getting your money and sell those properties."
Her eyes were starting to water.
"Why didn't you tell me right away, I could've sign those stupid papers to pay you off and save my Nana."
"Melanie, honey I don't care about the money. If I would have, I would have made you sign them, but I'm that type of monster like Ethan. That money belongs to you and you are the one who has rights to it."
Melanie was quiet for a few minutes and only looked down at the table.
Suddenly, she broke the silence and cried.
"Do you know how much I wish it was me instead of my mother."
"Don't say that. You're a beautiful soul. You deserve the world and much more."
I got off my seat and went across to hug her tight.
"Thank you for everything you have done."
"My Melanie there's nothing to thank me. I promise he will pay for everything."
We got back to Nanas room and she was asleep. We stayed in the hospital a few hours and asked the doctor and nurses to keep an eye out for her. I even had two guards outside the room and two more outside the building
I also called the police and made a report so they could get Ethan. After a while it was getting dark and I missed my little Vivian and I knew she was worried about Nana so I told Melanie it was time to go, but we would come in see her in the morning.
Melanie didn't want to leave the hospital, but I told her my guards were going to be watching the room.
We left and picked up Vivian from Susans house.
"Melanie, Daddy how's Nana Mary?"
"She much better honey." I told her as I picked her up.
"What happened to her."
"Someone really bad did something to her, but she's going to be alright and tell us her fun stories." Melanie answered.
"That's good. I like Nana's stories"
Susan was really worried and asked who this Nana was and what happened to her.
"Susan, thank you for taking care of my princess. And, Nana Mary is Melanie's Nana. She technically raised her. "
"Adrian, you didn't answer the second part. I know I'm pregnant, but come on answer me."
"I'll let you know after you had given birth. It's too complicated. And I don't want to make you go into labor.
"Really dude!"
I kissed her forehead and said goodbye to everyone and we left home.
