Annyeonghaseyo. I'm Choi Danseok. I'm 19 years old & live in Seoul, South Korea.

I've finished school and am training to become an idol manager.

I've actually always been good at looking after people & handling difficult situations.

At first I didn't know this, but my friend told me to take Management classes in school. I wasn't so sure about it, but I ended up at the top of Management class!

My school is one of the schools that give a special position in a management company to students who have done really well in management.

But it's a training course, not a job. The name of the company is SIMA (Seoul Idol Management Angecy).

So I got sent from my school & hope things will work out, since I don't have a backup job or a plan for my life.

The other trainees (we call ourselves trainees since we're training to become idol managers) & I don't pay, it's a gift from our schools. But I usually work overtime to get some extra cash. And we are the only trainees this company has. I'm quite lucky, huh?

When I was still in school, I lived in the countryside on a farm with my parents. We grow carrots.

My best friend, Ji An, lived at the chicken farm next door (as you can see, we come from humble backgrounds). I grew up with her and went to the same school as her.

Ji An always loved fashion & wanted to become a fashion idol. After she tried and got rejected, she took up fashion designing.

When I got the offer to go to SIMA, I couldn't go. It was too far from home so I couldn't travel there and back everyday.

So my parents & Ji An's parents rent an apartment for us in the city. Since Ji An also got a job there.

Even though my parents knew this wasn't a stable job for me, they've always put faith in me and & supported me.

To be honest, if it wasn't for them, I would not be pursuing my dream.

Speaking of which, I have an older brother. Kai. He's 22, three years older than me. He's the best.

He always acts like he doesn't care about me or what I do, but when I need him he's always there. He's the brother most people want - the one that leaves you alone but when you need him he comes to the rescue.

His job is modifying computers. But I think he spends more time playing computer games than actually working.

He loves gaming & is really good at it. Not on a national level though. Just good enough that all the online players want him on their team.

My job is actually really cool. I expected I would have to run around all day for the workers and go on their coffee runs, stuff like that. But they actually train us.

There's three other girls that are 'trainees' with me. Our main instructor, Ms Han, always tells me that I'm her favourite. We are really close & she's my role model.

The scary part about all this is that this isn't an actual job. I'm just a trainee. I don't know if I'll get kicked out tomorrow or promoted, like an idol trainee. But Ms Han always assures me that she will fight for me to stay.

And even if I get to manage a group one day, I don't know which one it'll be.

For now I just wanna focus on my training & work hard. Then everything will be okay.... That's what I thought....
