CHAPTER 03

"who is this?" jennie asked her parents with her eyebrows furrowed as she eyed the unknown man with a piercing gaze.

the man shifted in his seat, visibly intimidated by the girl infront of him staring like he was trespassing in her home.

"oh! this is jongin. your father and i decided that it is about time you two meet." her mother smiled widely.

"why?" she frowned further.

"darling, as your parents we want the best for you and no other man in the city is more deserving of you than him." her father explained.

"you are telling me that i am to be married?" jennie asked lowly. "to him?!" she asked again, her voice raising as she pointed a finger at him.

at this point, jongin could not even breathe. he was scared that if he moves or speaks, he will get murdered in the middle of the grand living room of the kim's mansion.

"darling, we just want what is best for you." her mother smiled apologetically.

"as my parents you should be be supporting me of what i want to do, what i want to be, and who i want to be with." jennie said. "you promised me that you will never take control of my life."

"darling we are no-" but her father was cut off.

"you are!" she yelled, not being able to control her feelings any longer.

she felt hurt and betrayed. jennie never thought that her parents are like the others who'd control their child's life.

jennie understands that they want to protect her. she understands that they wouldn't want her doing the same mistakes they've done before.

but this? this was too much for her.

"i am sorry for wasting your time jongin. you can stay and eat." jennie told him coldly, before turning to leave. "do not even think of following me out."

jennie was finding it hard to breathe as she cried infront of the river that was flowing calmly.

she does not like how she was acting. there are far more worse situations than hers but she could not help it.

if you cannot tell, jennie is someone who is independent and sticks to her own decisions and wants. she knows the rights from the wrongs and that makes her almost perfect.

she has never had a bad decision, everything she does surely leads to something beautiful.

"keep your head up jennie. don't let it affect you." she tells herself, getting up from the ground.

just as she was about to turn around to go back to the mansion, she felt her vision getting blurry and the last thing she sees is a horrifying scarred face.
