It's currently nine at night.
Avery and I took a shower an hour ago after I made us restaurant style spaghetti for dinner.
I'm currently doing my history homework as Avery scrolls through her phone while laying upside down over the edge of my bed.
I suddenly hear a loud thud and look over to see her on the floor.
She staring at her phone with wide eyes.
She looks up at me with the same wide eyes.
"What?" I ask her with a raised brow
"What did you do?!" She questions carefully
I push my laptop off of my lap and turn to face her.
"What are you talking about, Avery?" I question with an emotionless tone
She's being really weird.
She's never been this weird before.
She quickly turns her phone screen in my direction.
I see an article with a picture of Belleza and I.
Shit.
"Belleza and her new beau?!" I read as my eyes drift down to the photographs
The first photo is the one where her and I were leaving the school with our disguises while the other one seems to be from earlier today when I hugged her in the hall.
Fuck.
Who took a photo of us?!
"It's not what it looks like" is the first thing that I blurt out
Way to go, Aspen.
You've not only ruined Belleza's life, but also your own.
"Then what does it look like?" She says with a curious tone
"It look bad, I know, but it was taken out of context" I rant since I don't know how to describe these photos without explaining the backstory
"Would you like to hear the article?" She questions
She doesn't give me time to respond as she starts to read the false article.
"Multi Grammy winner, Belleza, was spotted leaving school with a possible secret lover." She reads
Oh god.
This is not good.
"The mystery passenger was disguised behind a wide pair of aviator sunglasses and a black baseball cap." Avery continues
"She is predicted to be a student at the school along with the young lady who provided us with this most recent photo" she reads with monotone voice
"Does our favorite actress and singer have a secret lover? Stay tuned" Avery finishes as she puts her phone down
"I can't believe this," I say as I place my head in my hands
I completely ruined an innocent persons life.
Belleza doesn't deserve this.
"I ruined her life" I say as I feel tear well up in my eyes but don't let them fall
Crying won't fix anything.
"No, Aspen, you didn't ruin her life" Avery says as she stands up from the floor and takes a seat on my bed
