Well okay then - what's the thing you regret the most?"
Harry genuinely laughed, his arm hugging your waist as he was entertained by your question that's already laced with desperation and tipsyness since he always managed to not directly answer the questions you asked him earlier.
It was one of those nights he thought of in the midst of watching a movie, liking the idea of the both of you cuddled up in a couch, bundled with a large blanket that was too big for the both of you yet no complaints were said, all while taking sips of the drink for the night, which at the moment is champagne he boasted of opening.
"Think I don't regret much."
You looked at him with a tight-lipped smile, caught in between the middle of annoyance and happiness as Harry cracked up at the thought of you like this, admittedly being entertained whenever he sometimes pushed you over to the edge only to see the knot in your brows he would give remedy to a few moments later.
He chuckled as you moved across the couch to be out of his grasp and face him instead, his eyes showing of him enjoying thoroughly.
"Why are we even playing this game again?"
You exasperated, huffing as you took a sip from your champagne glass, admittedly too that you were beginning to get annoyed as the questions were always being answered one-sidedly, both sleepiness from the alcohol and the passing of the time slowly creeping onto you.
He mirrored your actions jokingly, furrowing his eyesbrows and tilting his head downward a bit more exaggeratedly, a frown on his face and his arms crossed across his chest.
Harry backtracked when you were in the act of starting to unravel yourself from the blanket, slightly moving upward as he reached out his hand and told you words that he meant, consisting of how he would think quickly, out of consolation.
"Think there's one thing that I do regret."
You raised your eyebrow in impatience and curiosity, offering a look of confusion as you awaited his answer, the feeling of irritation slowly dispersing.
Harry genuinely thinked what he did regret with all jokes and acts of annoying you aside, unconsciously biting his bottom lip while he did.
He racked across moments and instances in his mind as he really thought he didn't regret things that much to the point where he'd go back and reverse it the way he did, until he finally found something.
He cleared his throat, the dear memory feeling as if it's stitched in his head as he finally realized this should've been the thing he would do in the first place, clearing his throat.
Harry said it genuinely, not for the sake of giving you an answer nor something to pay you with as an apology, truly and deeply concerning as his mind's now wrapped around it, not noticing the heat on your cheeks and the grin that was forming in your lips immediately after he said the words.
"Should've said I love you the moment I saw you."
