Chapter 8: True Colors

(Night was relieved that she got her necklace back, she felt like her mate with here with her. Everyone else was doing their business, on a mission. Meanwhile, Varian was watching Fix-it put on an alarm.)

Fix-it finishes doing the alarm, but Russell wasn't listening, neither was Varian. He watches Russell play a game. The alarm goes off, when the Autobots and Autocon returned from a mission. They were surprised and covered their receptors. "What's that noise?",Bee asked and Fix-it turns off the alarm and explains. Their mission wasn't good because they've brought back an empty pod full of mud. Strongarm complains about Sideswipe's laziness and he blames it on Grimlock for slowly them down. Suddenly Grimlock smackes Sideswipe with his tail and goes crazy.

"Grimlock!",Night said shocked. As Grimlock charges on Sideswipe, Bumblebee attempts to put himself between the pair, only for Grimlock to bash him into a wall.

"Bee!!",Night said and punches Grim into the shelves. Sideswipe prevent her and Strongarm from shooting Grimlock, but he was about to flatten both of them and Nightmare moved them out of the way.

"Something doesn't seem right with Grimlock!",she says, but Grimlock suddenly grabs her tail, and throws her above the control center.

"Nightmare!!",they all said. Face first and she was unconscious.

"Mama!!!",Varian also shouted, then Fix-it tells him to hide somewhere safe from Grimlock.

Sideswipe and Strongarm were both shocked, but get flattened. Russell sees that Grim was talking to himself, Fix-it attempts to handle him, but gets flicked aside. Varian run to get Russell, covering him. Grimlock prepares to smoosh both of them but was unable to, but he instead goes to look for the stasis pods. "What's her doing???",Varian whispered quietly. Russell wasn't sure, but he plans to set of the alarm to distract Grimlock. Varian goes to get her mother unstuck from above the command center.  Grimlock finds the stasis pods and loads Underbite onto a sled. He's distracted when the proximity alarm goes off, and smashes the console. Varian sees him grab Russell from the arm, "Russell!!". Russell bluffs that Optimus Prime is coming, causing Grimlock to panic and walks off with Underbite.

Varian pulls his mom from the cliff and comes alive. She was wounded, bleeding from her mouth, spits out a tooth and gets a headache. "Ugh.. what happened..?",she asked.

"Grimlock went crazy and took one of the pods, Underbite. He just walked off",Varian said worried. They make a plan to search for Grimlock, but weren't able to track him. Nightmare tells Bee that she can pick his scent. Russell realizes the Crown River Dam is the most likely place for Grimlock to have gone, so the Autobots and autocon head out. Russell asks Fixit to call up the prisoner manifest, and the pair spot something that makes them very worried for the rest of the team. They spot Grim's footprint, "Think we must be getting close to him". Suddenly, Sideswipe trips on a laserwire that made the ground a patch of ice. "Wait!",Night shouted, but Sideswipe and Bumblebee tumbling downward from slipping.

"Boys!!",she said.

She goes down the hill to get them. Sliding down, grabs Sideswipe with her lasso, and he held on tightly.  Bee tries to drive up and makes back up the hill. Night pulls up Sideswipe, "Are you alright?",she asked, he nodded. Strongarm asked the same thing to Bee. They went back to the forest and find a cryo-inducer from the stasis pod Grimlock took and they realize Grimlock left the trap for them. Night felt something strange that Grimlock wouldn't put traps for them. "Think I know where he's at.",she said, growling a bit. Back at the scrapyard, the trio continue fixing the console, but it manages to play music. Grimlock arrives at the dam with his cargo and meets Steeljaw. But he was disappointed that he only got one pod. The Autobots arrive at the dam, and Nightmare was behind Steeljaw. She points her guns at him, "Miss me?". He turned around shocked that she was with the Autobots and Steeljaw didn't know her symbol. They start to battle each other. Sideswipe starts to reason with Grim. He flings a roll of cables, it hits Strongarm, which sends her flying into Night, Steeljaw and Bumblebee. Nightmare stands up before Steeljaw does, until he reprimands Grimlock. "Grr..! Get a grip on yourself!",he said, until Night jumps on top of him, pulling his ears hard.

"What did you do to Grimlock?!",she shouted. He pulls her off.

"Oh is it so hard that the Dinobot would chose me over all of you, Scrap?"

She growls, "yeah it kinda is..". Night moves away from claw and scratches his face badly. Meanwhile, Grimlock take on Strongarm and Bumblebee. Nightmare orders Sideswipe to handle Grimlock, and commands Steeljaw to reverse what he did to Grim. He wouldn't say nothing, but scrap, so she throws him to the far wall. Night comes back to their aid to help out, until she turned around and sees Steeljaw walking off with Underbite's stasis pod. They bring Grim down and tangle him up with cables. Fixit, Varian and Russell finally fix the console and contact the four bots, telling them that a cyber-tick named Minitron is controlling Grimlock. Nightmare starts tickling Grim and the others did the same a bit while searching. Minitron kept jumping on each bot to attack each other. He got on Night, but was slowly controlled by a little bug. He gets off and heads back to Grimlock. Grim catches the bug, but Bee decides not to squish him. He flicks Minitron unconscious.

They head back to the scrapyard, placing the Decepticon in the pod. Bee tells Night to give him the news. Strongarm apologize to him. "Grimlock, it's your job too.. Welcome to the team, time to change the Decepticon symbol.",Night said with a smile.

He was excited and clears his throat, "Oh yeah, thank you, Midnight.",he smiles happily. When he said that nickname, Night zones out and into an old memory of that nickname and who gave it to her..

//On Starscream and Nightmare's anniversary, she gives her present to him. He smiled widely when he saw his gift on his head. "Happy anniversary, my liege..",she said. "Back to you, Midnight..",he said back and kisses her deeply. She kisses back and giggles a bit.//

Now, Bee looked at her to see if she was fine. She snaps out of it and looks at him. "Are you okay?",he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine..",she smiled a little and rubs her optic. Grimlock hugs Sideswipe, Russell and Varian, but the others worry that Underbite will be released again.
