Chapter 30 - What

"He is so cute," Jasmine said as she admired how Gabriel was eating a bread stick.
"Like his father. Does Josh still go to NYU?" Maya asked sipping her coffee.
"I don't know. I haven't seen him in four years," Jasmine said
"Then no. I didn't want to ruin his family bonds and now I have," Maya said sighing as a guy walks towards the two girls.

"Hey baby."
"Hey. This is my boyfriend, Jacob. Jake this is Maya and her son, Gabriel," Jasmine said.
"Please to meet you," Maya said.
"Please to meet you too," Jacob said smiling at the two.
"Josh is heading back from California today," Jacob said and Maya immediately hit blank.

"You know each other?" Jacob asked due to Maya's reaction.
"Josh did what I expected. Left Maya as soon as stuff got complicated. Gabriel is his," Jasmine said.
"Oh gosh. He kinda looks like him. I saw him a few months ago," Jacob said.
"How is he doing?" Maya asked.
"He's doing pretty good. Under circumstances," Jacob said.
"What does that mean?" Maya asked.
"Breaking one heart after the other," Jacob said and Maya sigh.
"Thinking I like him. Maybe I should just get everything over with," Maya said looking at Gabriel.
"Yeah, maybe," Jasmine said.
"Why doesn't he know about the little boy?" Jacob asked.
"He doesn't pick up his phone otherwise he would have known about his son three years ago," Maya said.
"I'm sorry. Must be hard raising him on your own," Jasmine said.
"I'm used to it by now. Kinda. It's always difficult raising a kid but more when you do it alone it's more hard," Maya said.

"Mama," Gabriel said and Maya smiled at her baby boy.
"Yeah, Bubba?" Maya asked and saw that Gabriel tried to reach his water bottle giving it to him.
"You guys look good together. Can see why you love the kid so much," Jasmine said and Maya smiles.
