Chapter Twelve

Gordie POV

We had been collecting branches then suddenly we hear a stick break. We turned towards the sound as a voice said,

"What the f*ck do you know about this?"

It was from Ace. I heard Chris swear under his breath as we turned to face them. Eyeball said,

"Son of a b*tch, my little brother!"

None of us responded as Ace continued on,

"You weren't planning to take the body from us, were you, boys?"

Chris stuck up for us and said,

"You get away man. We found him an' we got dibs."

Ace mocked him saying,

"Ahh! You better start running, Eyeball, they got dibs!"

But Chris was unfazed. He stood strong and kept arguing,

"We earned him, man. You guys came in a car that's not fair, he's ours!"

It was Eyeball's turn to mock his little brother,

"That's not fair, he's ours. Well, not anymore."

Teddy stepped up and said,

"There are four of us, Eyeball. You just make your move."

Ace replied to Teddy's threat with a smirk,

"Oh, we will, don't you."

Suddenly, all of the Cobras appeared, along with Vern's brother who said,

"Vern, you little son of a b*tch you were under the porch!"

Vern was scared and stuttered out,

"N-n-n-no I swear, It wasn't me!"

Billy was yelling at him saying,

"You little keyhole-peeping cuntlicking bung-wipe, we'll beat the shit outta you!"

Ace said,

"You guys have two choices. Either leave quietly. We take the body. Or you stay. We'll beat the shit outta you. We take the body."

Charley Hogan cut in,

"Besides, me and Billy found him first."

Teddy softly chuckled and replied,
"Yeah, Vern told us how you found him: Oh Billy, I wish we never boosted that car. Oh, Billy, I think I just turned my Fruit of the Looms into a fudge factory."

Charley was steaming and said,

"That's it. Your - your *ss is grass!"

Ace put up his arm and sopped him saying,

"Hold it. Okay, Chambers, you little faggot. This is your last chance. What do you say, kid?"

Chris is an idiot. A brave idiot, but an idiot. He replied,

"Why don't you go home and fuck your mother some more."

Ace flipped out his switchblade and said,

"You're dead."

That blade scared Teddy and Vern and Teddy said,

"Come on, Chris, let's split."

But the three of us stood by him.

"They're not taking him."

Teddy kept trying,

"Come on, man, that's crazy."
