Anna looked down partly in shame. Not only did she just come on to a guy she hardly knew. But she also thought it was Dan. Shaking her head she did her best to clear her thoughts. She hadn't noticed that Chris had taken a few steps away from her. Slowly she looked up, foucing on his nose. For some reason she just found it hard to meet his gaze. Finally she heard him ask who Dan was. Looking at him she took a deep breath. Thinking of her answer slowly.
"Dan was...someone special to me." She paused, not sure of how to continue or if she even wanted to explain more. Chris put his hand on her shoulder. giving her a small smile. "Look you don't have to tell me right now." He shrugged. "Maybe one day, sure. But For now that's enough. I'm gonna go home. I'll see you tomorrow morning."
She watched him walk to the door. Making sure it was locked. She walked up the stairs. walking in to her room, she flipped on the lights. Steve looked up from her bed letting out a small growl at being disturbed. Stripping, she tossed on a t-shirt, and climbed into bed. Unaware of the black shadow that had followed closely behind, lurking in the hallway. Waiting, watching, even hoping that she would look and see it. Only to be disappointed when she turned off the lamps, quickly falling asleep.
The next morning, Anna woke up wrapped around Steve. She laughed as she looked down at the cat sleeping on his back. His little mouth open just enough to stick his tongue out. Unwrapping herself from around him, she walked over to the bathroom for a quick shower. Half way through she felt a closeness creep over her. Looking around the shower crutin she looked to see if someone was watching her. Seeing no one she decided to quickly finish and get out. Trying to shake off the feeling that someone was behind her.
It took her a while to get dressed. Trying to shake off the feeling of being watched as she wrapped her hair up in a towel. Turning around she let out a fearful gasp, as she saw two small hand prints on her mirror. It had almost faded by then. Looking around Anna didn't see anyone. Suddenly there was a couple loud knocks on the door downstairs. Shaking off the weird feeling she ran down stairs to greet Christ.
She was taken aback by how he looked. She couldn't remember when she had seen a man look as good in a flannel shirt, and old jeans as Chris did right then. She wondered how she was going to be able to focus with him there. Stepping aside, she gave him a big smile as he stepped in.
