Chapter Six

I went to the room I was staying in and got ready for bed before laying down. I fell asleep thinking about Zale and if his pod will let him stay here overnight, imaginary scenarios that would never occur.

-----Next Morning -----
I awoke to my alarm and got ready for the day. I tied up my hair and went to the dinning room. I sat down at the table as everyone else showed up. After breakfast I asked my parents to go upstairs with me. We went upstairs and we walked to the office. I knocked as he said come in we entered. We walked in and they looked at me. I tried not to seem to excited to possibly have him over. I took a deep breath "may we have Zale over tonight if his pod says it's okay? A pod is like a merfolk pack. " they looked at eachother "please give us a second to talk." I nodded. I opened the door "I will be downstairs if you need me. " I closed the door and bounded down the stairs. I went to the room and grabbed the bag from yesterday. I went back upstairs and opened the closet door. Even if he cant stay over we will still hang out on land, teaching him what else he doesn't know about land. I collected some clothes and put them in the bag. I went downstairs and set the bag in the room. I sat on the bed and listened to music. I closed my eyes for a second thinking about Zale and I opened them when he shook me. Weylyn looked at me "they want to talk to you. Get up, sis." I got up "okay, okay. I am coming. Thanks for letting me know." he nodded. We exited the room and I went upstairs. I took a deep breath and opened the door. I walked inside "we have decided that since he is your mate. We still need to know who he is and what he is like so if his I think you called it a 'pod' says it's okay he can stay over night. But you two cant be torturing anyone all night long." I looked at them and hugged them then my great uncle. I looked at them "thank you! Wait what? What do you mean by torturing anyone all night long?" they sighed "we are experienced in knowing these types of things. Yesterday when you came home you smelt strongly of him. We know you mated. " I looked at them wide eyed. Shit they know. I nodded "okay. " I checked the time "speaking of Zale I am going to go meet him at our meeting spot. I will see you later!" I bounded out of the door and down the stairs. I went to the room and grabbed the bag as I set my phone on my bed. I walked out of the pack house and ran to the beach. I climbed inside of the cave, carefully avoiding the water, and sat down. I waited for him to show as I pulled a towel out. I thought of a few different scenarios as I waited for him. I heard something splash and I looked up. He climbed on land and laid down as I ran to him with the towel, I placed the towel over him like yesterday. I used my shirt to dry off his upper half and I hugged him. I kissed him "they said if it is okay with your pod you can stay the night on one condition!" he kissed me "that is amazing! My pod agreed but if I stay for one night there will be a few terms and conditions." I tried not to squeal from excitment. His tail dried as I pulled out the clothes. He turned into a human and I handed him the clothes. He put them on and I put my shirt back on. He hugged me "let's either go to the pack or hang out for a little bit. Your choice." I nodded as I thought for a second. I picked up the bag "let's go for a walk and I will explain to you a few things then lets go to the pack." he nodded. We walked out of the cave and went into the woods. I looked up at him as he looked at the path ahead of us, I smiled to myself wondering how I could be so lucky to have him as my mate. He cleared his throat "so what's the conditon?" he put his hand in mine "well, they um they know we mated." he stopped and stared at me for a moment. He continued walking " I have only met them once, I do not want them thinking I forced you to do anything." I nodded. He squeezed my hand "as long as they know I would never do anything to hurt you, I think it is fine they know I claimed what's mine." I stopped, dead in my tracks as he kissed my neck softly. I bit my lip "I am yours as you are mine." he kissed my cheek. I smiled at him "the condition we agreed on is that we would not be to loud if we did it in the house." he nodded "you mean you would have to keep it down." I looked at his body. He ran a hand through his hair and looked into my eyes as I watched him. He smirked at me "what?" I took a deep breath "its nothing, I was just thinking" he grabbed the bag. I climbed out of the cave and took his hand in mine. We walked on the beach before stopping, he set the bag down and I watched as be tried to put the flip flops on. I took my shoes out of the bag as I put them on "let's go to the pack, I can give you a tour of the place and we can drop the bag off." he nodded. He picked up the bag as we walked to the trees, we walked in silence. I could tell he was nervous about something. I looked at him "are you okay?" he looked up "I'm a little nervous about meeting them. " I held his hand "they will love you, I'm sure of it." he looked at me. I could see the nervousness in his eyes, I thought of something that makes me feel better, running. I took his hand "let's see how fast you can run."he looked at me "what?" I put my hair in a pony tail "let's try running and see how fast you can run. " I started jogging. I noticed he tripped for a moment but quickly regained his balance, he started jogging and getting the hang of it. As we quickened in pace, he breathed heavier as we ran through the woods. He started to speed up so I sped up too, we raced through the trees. He managed to jump over branches, logs, and bushes without losing balance. I was surprised, he is a quick learner. I saw the pack house as I slowed to a stop, he did too. I lead him to the door and opened it after we caught our breath. He looked around, confused as I closed the door. I took his hand and led him upstairs as he followed closely. We walked to the end of hallway and I knocked on the door. The alpha spoke "come in." I opened the door "hello. I um brought someone to meet you." he looked up from his desk and got up. He walked across the room and offered his hand to Zale. Zale looked at me I nudged him and he took his hand. The shook hands and alpha let go of his hand. He looked at him "Zale is it? My name is Dale Yvet I am the alpha of this pack." he nodded. He took my hand and looked at me then back at him "it's nice to meet you sir. Yes, I am Zale of Klamath Aquatia." a few moments of awkward silence and alpha cleared his throat. I looked at him "I need to get back to work, when you find your brother tell him I need to speak to him. He claims he wants to stay here, I think he just doesnt want to let his big sister move to far away." I nodded "okay. We have always been close.  I will see you at dinner, sir." he nodded "Goodbye, Iara and Zale." we walked out of the room. I felt Zale's eyes on me as I walked down the stairs, be followed closely. I took his hand in mine as we walked down the hall, through the kitchen, to another hall and to my room. I put my hand on the handle "is this your room?" he said as I opened the door. I nodded as we walked in, I set the bag down and he walked around the room almost inspecting it. He ran his fingers long the dresser frame and turned around. I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his neck then kissed him. He looked into my eyes as I looked back into his eyes. I took his hand and let him out of my bedroom. We walked back through the house and outside. He kissed my neck "I am getting used to having legs, I did not know having human legs would mean you would get uncomfortable at times." I giggled "yeah your legs can get sore after running." he looked at me awkwardly. He nodded "yeah. I wasnt talking about legs." I stopped giggling and kissed him "do you mean you want to-?" he nodded before kissing my hand. I felt my cheeks get warm "if you can catch me you can have me tonight." he was just about to grab my arm when I jumped out of the way. I started running through the trees as he chased me. As I ran I smelt the pine trees in the air mixed with the salt air. I stopped for a moment when I noticed another scent. I stopped and sniffed the air, then ran back to him. Zale laughed "aren't you supposed to be running away fro-" I covered his mouth and shushed him. I took his hand as he looked worried "I smell wolves I do not know how many there are. We have to go." I lead him through the trees as we hurried. We weaved through the trees as we ran back to the pack house. I paused as I heard something behind us and I turned to face the sound.
