The red carpet was tonight and Tom was nervous.
Which was weird. He usually loved red carpets. The fans and the interviews were all just fun. No, this--this was about Ben.
He had surprised Tom the other day by asking him on a date. Tom had known that Benedict may have been homosexual... But to ask your best friend out...
Tom said no. It just didn't feel right to go out with his best friend in that kind of way.
It had been days since they last spoke and Tom was nervous that he might treat him differently.
Tom was all dressed and ready. He waited for his limo to come along.
Are we still friends? Tom texted.
It was a couple minutes before Ben replied a simple "yes".
