Adoption stories are honestly cute because some people will go into an adoption centre, choose a kid, and bam, the child has a new home.
But adoption actually has many different steps. Yes, it is a PROCESS through which you earn the right to have that child that you have adopted. I know, c r a z y. Much different than how emo 12-year-olds picture it.
To adopt a child, you have to go through many steps, as I said before, before you can adopt a child. You have to research, complete a home check in which authorities will check your home to make sure it is a safe living environment, then you complete a bunch of paperwork and somehow, if you've passed all of that, you get a child, blah blah, happy family.
This is a realistic way to picture it but its much more aesthetically pleasing to picture some celebrity going into the Roblox adoption center, picking out an edgy teenager with mental problems, and going home and hanging out with them or whatever they do in fanfictions.
