I stare at the wall, I can't find the motivation to stare anywhere else it's like I am in a trance.

"how long has he been staring there?" I hear someone question from somewhere in the room, I didn't even remember anyone being in my office, I was happily minding my business doing some work when I felt a stabbing pain in my back and then nothing

"I walked in here an hour ago and he hasn't moved since his body randomly moves but no sign of life" someone else mutters out, who the hell is in my office, I want to tell them to get out but I can't.

"Should we call a doctor" I hear someone question, I want to scream yes because a doctor can get me out of this state

"I have no idea, this has never happened before" oh my god whoever is in my office is stupid before I can think anymore on my state I feel a wack to my head and I am out like a light.

I slowly open my eyes only to feel a pounding headache and my body aching

"oh alpha, I hope I didn't wake you" I hear someone rush out, I look up at the person who is beside me and realize it is the pack doctor

"doc give it to me straight, what's wrong with me" I groan out

"alpha I have a theory but I need to know the answer, remember everything is confidential but I need to know. have you found your mate?" doctor questions

"doc" I start only to be told to shut up

"I know what you are going to say but the truth" I groan out and nod

"yes, I rejected her" I mumble out making him nod

"do you know her rank?" he questions making me gulp

"shes a future council member" I comment making the doctor nod

"just as I expected, you cant reject a council member fully, I thought she was enough alpha which would have made me believe it was just because she didn't accept the rejection but you cant reject a council member, you can only stop the bond from growing. everything that happens to her will happen to you. which explains why you have no physical injuries but were spaced out and are now in pain" the doctor comments making me groan and nod

"how do I stop it" I question making him shake his head

"you can't, you either claim her as your mate which will make it a normal mating or this will happen until both of you die. you are linked but only one way a normal mating you connect both ways but because she is on the council even as a future member anything that happens to her you will experience and if that's death you will die too but if you were to get hurt or killed she wouldn't know, being a council members mate is very bad luck if you reject them i just hope you haven't put us in jeopardy, I advise you keep to light duties and we will just take each day as it comes but i would try and mate with her if i was you" the doctor mumbles out

"But what about" I start making the doctor stop me

"she can protect us" the doctor slips out before disappearing out of the room, I slowly sit up on the bed and sigh out, that wasn't what I was wanting to hear but I think it is what I needed to hear and that's the sad thing.
