Chapter 12: Heartbreaking End

It was after school and the boys had volleyball practice. I pack my belongings and zip up my bag. I decided I wanted to walk with Tsuki on the way there. He seemed to be in a hurry, I wasn't sure why though because he never liked going to practice. He ran out the classroom in such a hurry that I didn't think I could catch up.

"Tsuki! Hey Tsuki!" I yelled through the halls and trying to catch my breath as I ran. He turned around and just looked at me like I was irrelevant. He looked somewhat annoyed at just looking at me. I quickly ran to make sure he didn't get any farther. "What do you want Iko.", he said in an irritated manner. His tone hurt me, it made my heart ache. It hurt me more than I thought it would. "Tsuki... did I do something wrong?", I said while biting my lip. He just stood there staring me down. "I don't want to be late, I'm leaving", was all he said before he walked away. I hung my head low, I wanted to let a tear slip, but I didn't know why. This just proves my point that Tsukishima and I can't be an item, I don't even know why I believed in that. It was just small moments and he never actually made me feel happy did he? I decided to not show up to practice today, until I bumped into someone. Man... I need to stop bumping into people I thought. I looked up to see Yamaguchi. He looked down at me with a concerned face. "Oh... Y- Yamaguchi, hey..", I said trying to sound convincing, but didn't have enough energy to. "Are you alright Iko? You don't seem like yourself?", he said looking at me and moving my hair away from my eyes. He looked like he could tell I was in pain. "Iko, like I said... if you don't want to talk it's alright, but I'm always here for you", he said while placing his hand gentle on my face and caressing it with his thumb. I pulled him into a big hug. "T-thank you Yamaguchi... I r-really needed that.", I said while pulling away from the hug and giving him the sweetest smile I had. He returned the gesture and his cute smile made me blush. "Your still going to our practice right?", he said while giving me questioning eyes. I nodded my head. "Let's hurry than!", he said while grabbing my hand and pulling me with him to the gym. When his hand touched mine it gave me an energizing shock. It made me turn into a shade of pink. 

We arrived at the entrance of the gym with 7 minutes to spare before practice started. Yamaguchi opened the gym doors. Everyone looked shocked. Me and Yamaguchi looked at one another confused. I was so confused why did they look so shocked. "Did I get something on my clothes or face?", I said while tilting my head in confusion. "Umm, Iko it's more like what's in your hand.", Sugawara said while pointing at my hand. Me and Yamaguchi looked at where he pointed at. My hand and Yamaguchi's hand were still intertwined. We both looked back up and turned a light shade of pink. He let go of my hand exposing it to the bear cold. Nishinoya and Tanaka had a weird look on their face, it was a face that looked like it had a bad idea. I place my things down near the table. "Hello! I'm Yachi! The other manager", a high pitches voice said while sticking a hand out for a shake. I looked at her and examine her facial features she looked very cute like a little cute mochi. I gave her a sweet smile and and shook her hand. "I'm Iko! Nice to meet you!", I said while keeping my kind gesture. "Let's be good friends alright!", she said while giving me the same gesture. I nodded in agreement. I took out my notebook and a pen. I decided to write notes to make sure I don't do anything wrong. Kiyoko was teaching Yachi something she should focus on, so I had some spare time. "So... Iko, who do you prefer?", Nishinoya said with an intrigued tone. "Pardon? What do you mean?" I said while looking at him in confusion. Tanaka jumps in and adds "Wow! I never took you for a player Iko, but then again you are related to Owikawa. "I'm seriously lost! What do you mean!", I lowly yelled in irritation. "We mean you with Tsukishima and Yamaguchi!", Nishinoya said. "Yeah! You have both of those boys wrapped around your finger!", Tanaka said. "What... Tsukishima has feelings for me!?", I said in total shock. "Yeah you didn't see? He looked really pissed off when you and Yamaguchi were holding hands.", Tanaka explained. I look to see the direction Tsuki was in. He was more stiff with his movements. He looked quite irritated. His blocks were very stiff and he was like a solid rock. He looked like he could hurt someone. I then told myself there is no way Tsukishima likes me!  He probably was just still pissed earlier from the hall, I told my self. Yep! That was it! I was then put back to focus when Kiyoko asked me if I was ready. Kiyoko taught me the basics in being a manager. I learned a lot about being a manager it wasn't an easy job so I understood why she took her time looking for a good replacement.

It was after practice Yachi and I had to clean the gym. The first-years were still here practicing. I sighed in tiredness and a bit of hunger. "Please hurry Kageyama and Hinata! That goes for you too, Yamaguchi and Tsuki!", I said while yawning afterwards. "Tsuki? I thought Yamaguchi was only allowed to call him that", said Hinata. Kageyama just nodded and grabbed his water bottle. From the corner of my eye I could see that Tsuki turned into a shade of pink. Does he really have feelings for me? "We finished! Let's get cleaning!", Ginata announced while collecting all the balls. Same goes for the other first-years. Yachi and I moped the floor. Once we finished cleaning, I wanted to talk to Tsukishima, but he left in such a hurry again, but I didn't get a chance. I packed my stuff and got ready to leave. "Hey Iko! Let me walk you home! It's late I don't want anything to happen to you.", Yamaguchi said while hurting packing his stuff. He quickly ran to my side and we walked to my place. It felt very strange because I'm always use to walking with Tsukishima. I then got a notification, it was from my mom saying to come home now. I texted her back okay. "Is that you and Tsuki?", asked Yamaguchi pointing at my wallpaper.  "Yeah, me and him spent the weekend together and I guess I was able to get a picture together, it's a really cute picture so I set it as my wallpaper", I said while blushing very noticeable without even knowing it. Yamaguchi than looked at the picture with pain in his eyes. He sighed in he knew he already lost this battle without it even starting. In some way I looked at Tsukishima in a different way than I looked at him.
