Brookes POV:

It's been a few days since we got to Noah's aunts and uncles house. Alexa had come down the next day with red, puffy eyes and gauze wrapped around her arm. You could see the blood soaking through in dark, red lines. Today, I'm getting us out of here. First, I have to convince Tara and Liv to come with us because clearly they're fine being here. They just need to snap out of it. That's the hard part, and the part where I kind of need a plan too.

Tara would go out working instead of Asher because they didn't trust him enough. Alexa, Asher and I were sitting in the living room. We tried helping Liv clean which we're supposed to be doing but she said something a long the lines of "Just stop, go sit down somewhere and don't bother me as you clearly don't know how to clean properly!" or something like that. We didn't argue with that.

I often caught Asher looking at me, but it didn't faze me. He looked a bit embarrassed every time I did though. I just shook it off.

"Alright, I've had enough. We're coming up with a plan to escape now or never." I said it out of the blue, both their heads turned to look at me. I leaned back into the sofa.

"I was thinking of stabbing Noah in his sleep but that could lead to bad consequences if it doesn't turn out well. Probably not the best of ideas." I stared at the ceiling thinking of other options.

"I don't think that's a very good idea." Asher's voice rang through my ears. I wasn't expecting it to be so deep.

I looked at him for a second before leaning back into the sofa, rubbing my forehead. "That's literally what I just said, Asher."

"Right, right."

I don't know if I hurt his feelings by being so sarcastic but I really didn't care right now. We need to get out before anyone gets diagnosed with stockholm syndrome. We don't need that right now.

I snapped my fingers. "Asher, how long have you been here?"

"5 weeks I think" it almost came out in a whisper, he was just as scared as everyone here, he's just trying to act strong.

"Anything strange? any locked doors?" I was sitting up in my chair now, we may just be able to find out what else goes on in this twisted family of theirs.

"Well there is a door by the kitchen that's always locked, whenever I'm near it Tara just drags me away."

"Great, ok. Alexa?" I looked over at her, she was picking on the sofa. She hummed in response, clearly lost in thought about something else. I don't blame her.

"You and Asher go help Liv or something, I'm getting in that room but I can't with Liv around so distract her for as long as you can." My eyes darted to Alexa. "Alexa? were you even listening?"

"Oh ye ye, distract Liv." Her voice trailed off.

"Alright, maybe i'll find a weapon or something down there." I play around in my hair for a bit and pull out one of those trusty bobby pins.

I nod at them and they get up, leaving the room.

Once I hear them talking and Liv's voice following, I slowly creep out of the living room and make my way to the kitchen. I spot the door Asher was talking about. I mean, it was the only door there.

I look around for anyone or anything before jogging over to it. I stick the bobby pin into the key hole and jiggle it around until I hear a click. I sigh in relief. I thought this would be harder.
