"Zara, who are they?" Jimin gasped, exasperated.
I kneaded my forehead. "I-I'll tell you later. It's not important right now."
I remembered the doctor's note about how not to reintroduce everyone and everything to him right away. "I promise I'll tell you soon enough."
He looked upset, but nodded. His words hit me again, and I felt tears threatening to spill.
"What is it? Are you sad? Come, don't cry now. You can be such a crybaby." Jimin patted my head and lifted the corners of his mouth.
I shook my head. "Did you mean what you said? About me?"

He paused and became red as beetroot, and pulled his hand back awkwardly, "Yeah, I mean, isn't it obvious? We're supposed to live together someday. Am I not supposed to trust you?"
I sighed at that.

Perhaps... he was only trusting of me because of some domestic fantasy.
I realized that perhaps he'd started to hate me once he'd started to know me, and thought seriously about being with me. With that sobering thought in mind, I clammed up and offered to show him some new movies from the last five years he'd missed, and he gladly agreed to take his mind off of things.

I looked ahead, resolute now. Before I was on the verge of tears, but thinking through it, I saw there was some hope. Yuma was fuming by my side. I could see she wanted to break someone's neck. I could tell whose neck it was, too.

Hoseok finally asked her to calm down. "He can't help that he's sick. The doctor informed that we had to be careful around him; I can't believe you two rushed in like that."
"Can you help it? He's having some major Stockholm Syndrome around that girl— his fiancée?" She responded.
"Did you guys know he had a fiancée?" Jungkook asked.
I shook my head, as did Hoseok, "I thought she was just an old childhood friend."
"I thought she was an ex," I muttered.
"Well, she is his ex, in a way," Jungkook said. "I'm just surprised. I hadn't even met her before the hospital that day he got drunk."
"I mean, can you blame him? It's Zara Sando we're talking about! Do you remember the scandal about her five years ago? She's bad news!" I exclaimed, getting riled up again.

"Well he clearly has some feelings towards her." Hoseok remarked.
Yuma whipped around and glared at him. "He'd mentioned her to me before; he told me he didn't love her."
Hoseok rolled his eyes, clearly not in the mood for an argument. "Well, he clearly respects her, at least. Even the 23 year old him. Even when he remembered you, Taehyung, he told you off for being rude to her."

I groaned and looked at Hoseok. "When he remembered me?"
"Yeah. He called you by your nickname: Tae. Remember? It was for a split second, but it was in his mind."
The weight of his words hit me after a second, and I wobbled. Tears streamed down my cheeks again. I put a hand over my mouth and looked at Hobi.
"He remembers— he remembers me."

Yuma looked even more frustrated and did not join in with the rising spirits of the group. Instead she called an Uber and left within a few minutes.

"Zara seems reasonable..." Jungkook ventured. "We really should talk to her."
Hoseok nodded, and I thought about it.

For Jimin to react that way when I disrespected Zara... she had to be someone special. What was their history? Their relationship? And more importantly... did Jimin think the same of her at 23 as he did at 18?

I had to figure out whether Zara Sando was friend or foe, and it wasn't going to be easy.
