Entering through the gates, my beautiful house came into view. It was huge, with only the seven of us living in it, I don't see why we had to live in such a massive house. I guess that was the result of my dad always working non-stop, never having time for anything else. Sometimes I just wanted him to be a normal dad, however he was driven by the craze of always working hard due to the fact that he came from a poor background and didn't want our fate to be like his, I understood him in one way.

Stepping into the house, my mother immediately rushed to me.

"Bint ismaeel, why did you take so long?"

"Mama, actually..."

"Iins al'amr' (انس الامر), we have to hurry, Iqra will be waking up soon." Grabbing onto my hand my mother pulled me along with her.

An hour later the whole house was decorated for my baby sister's birthday party who had just turned three.

My whole family was awake now, including my two brothers - Ishaaq and Ibrahim - so we all headed to my sister Iqra's room with balloons, cake and party poppers.

We looked at each other and my sister, Iram, gave the signal.

"SURPRISE!"

My baby sister shot out of bed, looked around at each of us, confused by the commotion. However her eyes landed on her football cake and she started clapping her hands and screaming.

Iqra loved football ever since she was a baby, most girls her age liked dolls however she had no interest in them whatsoever. I guess she was like me.

I rushed to her and gave her a big kiss on her cheek. In return she gave me a big fat hug. Then my dad, mum and brothers each wished her happy birthday. I was surprised my dad even left his study room but I guess this was him making up for not going to be at her actual birthday party.

"Alright everyone, go get ready and I'll get this little munchkin ready." My mum voiced and we all headed to our own rooms to get ready for the day ahead as we had invited a lot of people for Iqra's birthday. I know she was only turning three but she was the life of our house and her happiness was everything to us.

My room was quite simple, with a bed in the middle and some couches straight ahead with a small coffee table. The thing I loved most was the balcony on the right. The view outside  made everything look so much more beautiful.

Entering my closet, I picked a baby pink maxi dress with sequins at the top and the rest of it plain, flowing down to my ankles

Quickly, putting on some gold flats, I headed out to leave my room however remembered I needed to set a reminder on my phone to get my mum's medications in the evening

Quickly, putting on some gold flats, I headed out to leave my room however remembered I needed to set a reminder on my phone to get my mum's medications in the evening. Looking around everywhere, I couldn't find my purse. Slowly I started to panic. This purse not only contained my phone but a very valuable thing in it. I threw everything left, right and centre.

"Where is it? Where is it? Where is it?" I quietly mumbled to myself.

Then it clicked.

When I banged into the wall, this morning at the shopping centre, everything had dropped out of my hands.

Oh no no no...

Immediately I ran out of my room, down the stairs and threw the door open.

"Inayah habibty, where are you going? Stop!" Ignoring the calls of my eldest brother Ishaaq, I rushed into my car and drove to the mall. Knowing that a couple of bodyguards were already following me in their own cars.

Going to the place where I had dropped the stuff, I searched every corner, asking the people around if they had seen anything. People looked at me like a crazed woman.

Nothing.

I felt the air coming out of my lungs. Black dots started to appear in front of me. Just as I felt the ground coming to hold me, words made their way across my eyes..

'Breathe, inhale, exhale, breathe'

Following the exact pattern, I regained my composure and opened my eyes to see people with concerned looks on their faces.

"Are you okay honey?" An elderly looking woman asked.

"Sorry to worry you. I'm fine, thank you." Giving her a grateful smile, I made my way out of the mall and returned to my house, all the while thinking how could I ever lose something so precious, something so close to my heart, something that gave me strength, courage and the will to live...
