I’m sorry I’m not a star.
I’m sorry I can’t go far.
I’m sorry that I was given the choice
To have and use my own voice.
I’m sorry I’m not an A+ student.
I’m sorry I don’t show much improvement.
I’m sorry that I cannot hide
Who I truly am inside.
I’m sorry I’m not what you expect.
I’m sorry if I show you disrespect.
I’m sorry if you don’t like my style
But do you have to be hostile?
I’m sorry that when I close my eyes
All my emotions begin to rise.
I’m sorry that I have to cry
For someone to notice my life’s gone awry.
I’m sorry that I stick to the side,
That I’m not someone with nothing to hide.
I’m sorry that no matter what may be
I will forever still be me.
