Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Meeting the Family

Nik

"If it is the family that left you I will personally make sure that they leave you alone. If it's the red-head then I will take her out since she is a threat to you. She won't be escaping me and she doesn't even know it," I say, looking at her.

"Thank you, Nik. I think my Gran was wrong about you," she says.

"Oh, no, love, I'm an asshole and I'm sure we'll have our problems in the future. Would you like to wait for Elijah outside?"

She nods and we walk out the front door, forgetting about the movie we planned on watching. I help her sit on the steps before planting down myself. Elijah comes walking over and Isabella tells him that he can make himself at home inside. He thanks her and walks inside. I offer my arm to her and she takes it. We walk across the street and to the family home inside the compound. Kol comes walking out as we walk in the gate.

Bella

"Ohh, who must you be?" He asks.

"Kol, go back inside. Love, ignore him." Nik looks at him.

"Aw come on Nik, who is she? Why is she here?" This Kol asks.

"Go inside and we will follow. She will get to talk to the lot of you later. She needs to speak to Marcel," Nik says.

"My name's Isabella, but you can call me Bella. Nice to meet you, Kol," I say elbowing Nik in the side.

"Ah, your name fits you very well," Kol says.

I blush and thank him. Nik leads us inside and I see a bunch of people waiting in the family room for us. I wasn't nervous as this wasn't the first time I've met a house full of vampires.

"Bella? Is everything okay?" Hayley asks me.

"Um, which of you is Marcel?" I ask looking around.

"Bella, I'd like to introduce you to my family. You've got my siblings; Finn, Freya, Rebekah, Kol, and Elijah, who you've already met. You also have their mates; Sage, Marcel, Davina, and Hayley, who you've also met. Freya is the only one who doesn't have a mate. I would like for you guys to meet my mate, Isabella Marie Swan."

"Are you related to Marie?" Rebekah asks.

"Yes, she was my grandmother," I say with a small smile.

"I loved Marie. She was an amazing woman. I'm sorry about her passing," she says.

"I'm sure that'd mean the world to her. It was very hard on me when she passed."

"You wanted to speak to Marcel, didn't you?" She asks.

"I did, but I might as well tell everyone my story first. If one of the Cold Ones from my story sounds familiar just let me know," I say.

We all sit down and I take a deep breath. I tell everyone my story. I know retelling it for the second time would help, but I didn't really like having to tell my story over and over again. I describe each of the family members without giving them names and I tell them what Victoria looks like. No one says anything and I wonder what is going on. After I get done everyone sits there in silence. I want to ask Marcel if it was Victoria, but I also wanted him to tell me it was one of the family members.

"Marcel, was it Victoria?" I finally bring myself to ask.

He doesn't say anything and I start to panic. Marcel looks from me to Nik and back. He goes to open his mouth when Elijah comes walking in carrying my father. Hayley jumps off the couch and rushes over to Elijah. I go to get up to check on my father and Nik holds me in place.

"Lijah, is everything alright?" Hayley asks.

"The Cold One was lurking around your house. She was looking through your father's window when I got up there. He's still sleeping, but I couldn't stay there while you guys had no idea," he says looking at me.

"Was it Victoria?" I ask.

"Who is Victoria?" He looks at me.

"I'll tell you later," Hayley says to him.

"Red hair?" I ask.

"Yes, the Cold One had red hair." 

Nik

When Elijah says the Cold One had red hair Isabella passes out in my arms. I ask Freya and Rebekah to clean out one of the guest suites for Mr. Swan while I take Isabella up to my room. I didn't want to be apart from her since that Cold One is after her, but I also knew my family would come talk to me up there. I pick her up and carry her to my room. I let my family know they can come up as mated pairs or one at a time as I didn't want to overwhelm her if she woke up.

"So she is the one to get stuck with Nik for the rest of her life," I hear Kol say when I walk up the stairs.
