"With the festival coming up we need to talk." Headmaster said.
"There are many schools and Sects participating; maybe by the hundreds. The rules are that elders not interfere unless they're the referees, the problem is..." Jan tossed a scroll.
"They're three types of challenges; Dueling, Spirit Control and Formations." Headmaster said but then slowly frowned, "I can do the spiritual control, but the dueling and formations are out for me."
"What are the formation trials?" Jaeger asked.
"Each person will be given a formation puzzle to solve, A broken formation will be displayed and the users are suppose to decipher and activate it." Headmaster Jan said, "the duels are the last challenge, this challenge anyone can participate, I am not much of a fighter but I am very proficient in nature energy which means my defense and spiritual control is higher than the average person, but I lack offensive capabilities like fire users."
"You're a turtle." Hawk taunted, "listen up, I can handle duels, Hydra as well. But I don't know what your worth is in this competition, either way we still need a Formation user else it would take a miracle to win."
'Crack' a vine was risen from the earth and broke through Jans window wrapping around
Hawk, Hydra was caught off Guard by this but Haeden and Jaeger saw everything as if it was moving slow.
"As I was saying, as Hawk said, we have mostly duelist here." Jan said with a irritated face.
"I will deal with the formations." Haeden said nonchalantly.
Hydra gazed at Haeden unable to see through him, he felt this sensation before when he Sparred with Jaeger, in fact the moment Jaeger stepped inside Jans room Hydra never looked at him once. He still remembered the embarrassment he felt and how overpowered he was, from that day forward he healed and meditated, his lackeys were sent off because he blamed them for the outcome.
"You? I'm sorry kid I'm not looking down on you but it's going to take a lot more than a nice robe to convince me you have skills, formations take genius thinking and quick wits, it's not something even the best of cultivators can do well." Hawk escaped the vines said.
"Well, since no one else here is capable, I volunteer to do it." Haeden said.
"Your brother did recommend you in this regard and I have a good feeling about you, so I don't see why not." Jan shrugged.
"Listen this is bigger than just winning a stupid competition, this is for the academy, this is for glory, respect, prestige and money. It's very important for us to win the money." Hawk said passionately.
The room went silent for a bit because they were sure that Hawk said the same-thing twice.
"Then it's Settled, Haeden is on Foundations; Jaeger,Hydra and Hawk are on duels, and I'm on spiritual control." Jan clapped and said.
"This year festival is hosted on our grounds, i have a good feeling about this one." Jan said.
"We haven't won in years, this place is fucking cursed" Hawk added.
'Bam' Hawk was thrown through the window by Jans vines, "We will win this, Dismissed!"
Jaeger and Haeden were the first to leave, followed by Hydra, Hawk could be seen trying to crawl out of the massive amount of vines on him and the guards watched him struggle because they couldn't leave their posts.
