Asana means practice of physical postures. Asana is the most crucial stage in Ashtanga yoga prakriya. Our main aim of performing this yoga is the union with supreme. How can we concentrate on him if our body doesn't cooperate??? How can we meditate concentratedly if our muscles are pulling or legs are aching?? As body and mind are inseparable, this stage helps in keeping our body steady thus enabling our minds to focus more on him.

Practise Vriksha asana to improve concentration levels. This asana reduces fluctuations in mind and quiets mind from distractions.
First stand straightly, place your feet together and knees completely straight. Fold your right leg at knee joint. Put the right heel on left thigh using your hands, toes indicating down. Try to balance yourself with one leg. Join your hands at chest as if you are doing namaskara. Bring your hands slowly above head after taking a deep breath. This asana makes your body sturdy and flexible, calms your mind. It's difficult but you can do it better upon practice.
