It was on this day that Willy Wonka not only repeat his offer to Charlie who accepted, but also found you in the nursery and apologised for everything he did that may have upset you. You forgave him, and that was the day he officially met Amelia.

~

You patiently waited outside the front of the school gate, sunglasses perched up on your head.

The bell rung loudly, signalling the end of school, Amelia burst into tears at the loud noise and you quickly knelt down, pulling the flap of the pram up slightly so you could comfort her.

"Shh, don't cry baby girl" You stroked her dark brown locks, her violet eyes locking with yours as she continued to sob "Please don't cry Amelia, guess who we're going to see"

Amelia quickly quietens down, her curious eyes boring into yours.

"Hello Mrs Wonka" Charlies voice caused you to jump slightly and you beamed

"Hello Charlie" You quickly gave him a quick hug "Thought I'd come and get you from school, Amelia's been fussing around quite a bit and I thought the fresh air would do her some good"

"Hello Amelia" Charlie said, bending slightly so he could see Amelia

Amelia babbled, her eyes creasing as she smiled.

"Right, well, you must be starving, heard the school food is rancid" You started

"Oh it is" Charlie chuckled "Never thought I'd prefer cabbage soup"

"You up for some chocolate?"

"I'm always up for chocolate" Charlie replied.

Both you and Charlie started walking in the direction of the store in the corner

~

"Sorry we're late. We were brainstorming." Charlie burst through the door with your husband strolling behind him

"Thought I heard thunder." You chuckle, giving your husband a quick kiss on the lips

"baba" Amelia giggled, her tiny hands outstretched waiting for her dad to pick her up

"Hello my little one" Willy smiled, picking her up and swaying slightly

"You staying for dinner, Willy?" Mr Bucket asked

It wasn't uncommon for your husband to miss out on dinner, preferring to perfect his candy.

"Yes" Willy assured, taking a seat next to grandma Georgina and gently placing Amelia in the high chair next to him so he could feed her

"You smell like peanuts." Georgina commented, Willy raised a brow, clearly confused "I like peanuts"

"Oh thank you! You smell like old people...And soap" Willy replies "...I like it" Georgina lets out a girlish giggle and encases Willy in a hug

"Elbows off the table, Charlie" Josephine says

"How do you feel about little raspberry kites?" Willy asks Charlie

"With liquorice instead of string" Charlie responds

"Boys, no business at the dinner table." Mrs Bucket warns, she hands you a plate of dinner and you say a quick thank you

"Sorry, Mom." Charlie apologises

"I think you're onto something, Charlie" You whisper, giving him an assuring nod

In the end, Charlie Bucket won a chocolate factory. But Willy Wonka got something even better: A family. And one thing was absolutely certain: Life had never been sweeter.
