Will the Day Come? [BokutoXReader]

Taking care of me

Bokuto and I headed to my classroom in a calm silence, nothing awkward gladly. We finally got to my classroom, and I quickly grab my bento and walk towards Bokuto, who waited by the door, and we made our way to the roof.

I opened the door to the roof, and showed him the spot where I sit and eat, which had a beautiful view of the ground,

"Look Y/n" he said, as he nudged me to look in the direction he was looking in, "did you know we had a cherry blossom tree?"

"Yeah, its been there for a while, when it fully blossoms it becomes so beautiful" I said with a small smile. He looked at me and asked,

"When does that happen?"

"Around the beginning of spring, why?"

"Well...um...maybe I wanna see it one day" his face flushed as I asked, but it only made me confused, but still it was cute so it made me laugh. He then started to mumble, "No matter how pretty it is, it will never be as pretty as someone," my smile faded and I asked,

"Akaashi?" His face burned,

"W-w-what...n-no not at all....what are you g-g-getting at"

"I mean you call him cute all the time," why did it hurt, why did my heart ache when you knew that he felt something towards Akaashi,

"Um...yeah sorry I forgot that"

"What? You forgot that you called your crush cute?"

"Um.....Y-yeah" he said, looking away while rubbing the back of his neck, his smile was so sad though

"Hey what's wrong?" He looked back at me and took my bento right from my hands, he unwrapped it; he looked at the food then taking a hold of the chopsticks, he tried feeding me. I took a deep breath and opened my mouth to be fed,

"We only have 10 minutes left of lunch, and I think Akaashi would be mad if he found out that you didn't eat" he said, breaking the silence, then a small smile crept upon his face. We finish lunch with that soothing silence as he fed me my food,

"We should probably get going" I said, as a huge blush blew onto my face,

"Yeah, also I like the new look" he said, while a small red fell on his face too. I squealed, his words made my blush worse, making me run back to class.

I quickly sit in my seat and quickly dig my head into my arms that were on my desk,

"What happened?" Akaashi asked in his usual monotone,

"Can you explain what it feels like to like someone?" You didn't lift your head, but you could tell he was surprised,

"I'm not the best person to come to for this kinda stuff"

"Well who should I ask then?" I then pouted

"Bokuto, he has way more experience,"

"Well I dont wanna ask him, its already awkward between us now"

"Well based off what people say," he paused and thought before continuing, "your heart rate increases, your body starts to sweat, you start to get nervous, and probably more, but again I'm not really the best person to come to for this," I sigh and let him be confused for a little while longer, "Y/n? Do you like Bokuto?" I jumped and looked up with a crimson red on my face,

"I think so," he looked at me with surprised and disbelief face,

"Y/n, do you know who he likes?"

"Yeah, and I'm jealous of you," I answered once more, as I face planted into my arms again

"Wait, y/n um..." he sighed once more, "you should talk to him more about that"

You get up heading to the gymnasium with Akaashi, again we didn't talk that much, just about the project and nothing more. As we approach the gym, he sighed like he was getting ready for a very difficult conversation. I didn't want to get in the way so I made my way to the bench

Bokuto's POV

"Bokuto" I heard, I turn around and looked at who called my name, it was Akaashi, "what did you and y/n do during lunch on the roof?"

"DAMN! IT WAS AMAZING AKAASHI," I yelled I couldn't contain my voice, that moment with her was almost perfect, I wanted it to last forever, "we looked at the view from the top and we talked about this beautiful tree, but dont worry it doesn't compare with her beauty, anyways then we changed the conversation to how I like you, then I just couldn't tell her how I truly felt though. So then I realized that we had 10 minutes left and so I fed her making her face all red and flustered, then I think I made the right move by telling her that her new look looked good on her though." Akaashi sighed and said,

"Well whatever you did made her distracted all class, which I have never seen"

"Oh right I still have her bento,"I said, not completely ignoring Akaashi, but still I couldn't help but smile at the thought of her. Ugh the way her h/l silky h/c hair falls, and the way she acts around me is so cute,

"Bokuto, you know she is really into her studies right?" I finally came back to earth, I looked back at him and shook my head. He sighed and continued, "she is really into her studies and doesn't like to be distracted"

"Ok? And how is this my fault?" I asked, a bit confused.

"Bokuto, I'm fine if you flirt with her but you can't be clingy with her. She may like it now but she is not going to like it maybe a week from now." This left me more confused now, if she liked it now then why wouldn't she like it later? Akaashi could obviously tell that I was confused so he explained it in a different way, "Let's say you try this knew dessert, and you loved it. But after eating it over and over again, don't you think you would get sick of it?"

"But Y/n isn't a dessert,"

"No, what I'm saying is she is going to get tired of you eventually"

"No, I will make a note to always surprise her. Also how does this lead to her studies?" Akaashi sighed before speaking,

"She takes her studies seriously Bokuto, if you're going to be distracting her and be really clingy with her, then I will have no choice then to not let you see her anymore"

"What!! Why? I'm not being clingy, I'm just trying to get close with her." I then looked away and mumbled, "plus I can find other ways to see her," but he obviously heard and got really mad,

"BOKUTO, YOU LITERALLY WANT AND ARE TRYING TO BE AROUND HER 24/7, THAT IS BEING CLINGY. SHE IS NOT LOOKING TO BE IN A RELATIONSHIP AND IM NOT GOING TO LET HER GET HURT BY YOU!!!" He shouted, I was more then surprised, but his attitude and word choice made me mad. I glanced behind him though and saw Y/n, her eyes had widen a little and her shoulders a little stiff, it looked like she was ready to run away. I calmed down and furrowed my eyes brows a bit,

"Fine!" Was all I said to him. But I still wasn't going to give up on you and he knew that more then anyone else. I excused himself From Akaashi and made my way towards you,

"Hey sorry about Akaashi," I said, as I sat next to her,

"It's fine, but if you don't mind me asking, who is she?"

"Oh it's my friend, apparently she is getting tired of hanging around me. You wouldn't get tired of me right?"

"I don't think I will anytime soon," that makes me happy.
