His name is Kim Namjoon. He's really tall. He's really handsome. He has a beautiful smile. He has dimples. We met in a park. He has a beautiful laugh. His eyes shine like a million stars. His hands are soft. He's gentle. But he's sad. I don't want him sad.

I look at the boy who sits across from me on the bench. His name is Kim Namjoon.

His eyes are closed. He's really handsome.

"Are you sad?" I ask him.

He opens his eyes. His eyes do shine like a million stars. "Did you write in your notebook that I was sad?" He sounds surprised.

I duck my head. "Was I wrong?"

Maybe I wrote it in wrong. Maybe the words on my notebook are a lie. Maybe all of it is a lie.

"No, no." He suddenly sounds distressed. He reaches over. He reaches over to me. "You weren't wrong," he says earnestly. "I was just surprised you'd write something like that in your notebook." And he says my name. I like the way he says my name.

"I don't want you sad," I tell him.

He smiles. It's a beautiful smile. But it's broken. It's sad. It's a beautiful, sad, broken smile.

Did I make him sad?

"I'm not sad," he whispers. He brushes my own hands. His hands are soft. "You want to know why?"

He's not sad. He looks sad though. Is he lying? Why is he lying? Why would you say you're not sad when you are?

"Why?"

"Because I'm with you," he says. "When I see you it makes me happy. And when you write me into your notebook, it makes me even more happy."

I smile. My smile is better than his. My smile isn't broken. My smile isn't a mask like his.

"Then I will write you into my notebook every day," I tell him.

He laughs. But it's also sad. It's also broken. "But will you write me in your heart?" He murmurs.

Have I heard those words before?
