PART FOUR

STEVENS POV
I was glad I could fix things with Connie. After we talked, we mostly watched some TV. I felt better and asked Connie if I'd be allowed to try and walk.

She seemed, hesitant. But otherwise agreed. I went to stand up, almost falling to my right. Well, because I didn't have my right arm, and I tried to put my body weight there. Connie helped me stand up. It felt strange at first, since it's been almost three weeks since I last walked around.

I leaned on her and was able to stand up, but not straight. It sent pain down my back and up my right shoulder to stand up straight. I held onto the railings and walked to the stairs. I was getting my feel for walking again, and tried to go down. But halfway down, I felt sick, and fazed. Almost like I didn't know where I was. I turned around and attempted to go up the stairs. When I got to the top though, I felt my leg get dragged back by the top step. I tripped, hitting my head on the rail.

Connie came over and helped me back up, but I felt my mind slipping into darkness. My left arm was wrapped around Connie and I passed out.

THIRD PERSON POV
Steven had passed out in Connie's arms, she felt his weight shift onto her. She dragged him to the bed. Placing him softly on the bed, she covered him on the covers, and left. Lion curled up in the bed next to him.

"How are we going to get through this..." Connie mumbled.

A couple of hours passed by until Steven woke back up. Garnet was sitting in the room with him.

"Good afternoon, Steven." She said.

STEVENS POV
I woke up and saw Garnet.

"Good afternoon, Steven." She said with a smile. I smile back, that was until more pain shot through my shoulder.

"Garnet, do you think I'll get my powers back?" I asked.

"Well, im not sure...but we'll work on that when you can walk again without passing out." She said.

I looked down.

"Can I try again?" I asked.

"It's better you just rest, for now, you'll overdo what you can do." She said.

"I'm just so sick of lying there all the time. I know it hasn't been that long... I just feel helpless...there has to be something I can do." I said, staring at the ceiling.

"It's ok to feel like that, Steven. But you have to understand, your body has been through a lot of trama, blood loss and stress. You can't expect two days to go by and be ready to do everything." She said.

"I know...it just feels weird... I want to be able to help, I've always been the one helping someone else. But I can't do that now." I said. I just didn't understand.

"Hey it's ok, things will be alright. They won't be normal, but well work through it. " she saidm I saw my eyes through her vizors, they were black. She places her hand on my right shoulder, it hurt.

She took it off, seeing me flinch.

"Ah, I knew it " she got out the pills and made me take two of them.

The pain on my shoulder started to subside.

"Steven, try to move your shoulder." She said.

So, I tried too. I couldn't feel anything in my shoulder though. There wasn't any feeling. But I guess it was moving...it felt so strange.

I hated this...all of it...

Why did this have to happen? Why had Spinel attacked us, to begin with?!

I felt rage take over my mind.

"Steven? Are you ok?" Garnet asked.

"I hate this...all of it...why did this have to happen?! There's no sense in it! This can't actually be happening." I was sort of yelling, making my head hurt. I didn't care.

I stood up and started walking. I went down the stairs quickly.

"See? Nothing is wrong! I'm fine, im walking and can go down the stairs and everything!" I said. I felt a little dizzy, but I still didn't care.

"Steven! Stay there!" Garnet said, anxiously.

"NO! I don't care how long its been! This can't actually be happening! I bet, I just hit my head everything is going to be normal again. I bet somehow I got on some drug and I'll wake up and everything will be fine!" I was yelling, making my head pound. I could hear my heartbeat in chest.

I felt myself fall to the floor. But, instead of darkness, I saw, light? Where my gem was ached and it felt like it was burning. Why would it be burning? I could feel my body being contracted by force. I saw garnet stop and stare at me.

"G-garnet what's happening?!" I cried. It hurt...then I slipped away into that light.
