>>>>>>>North's POV>>>>>>>

💦SPLASH~!

"Whoo~-hoo-hoo~!"

I do an aerial flip before landing back on the wave.

"Alright!"

Me and my board ride back to shore. I fix the band holding back my hair and shake off the water.

"Nothing beats surfing, man."

Bark!

"Hm?" Just then, I see a familiar dog running my way.

"Chestnut?"

BARK!

"Woah!"

THUMP!

He knocks me down in seconds flat and licks my face.

"Okay-okay, boy!" I gently push him back.

"Ahem..."

I froze and look up to see Kalina. And she was not happy.

"Mind telling me why you're not at Strikaland?"

"(Nervously grins)Eh-he-he..."

>>>>>>>FAST FORWARD>>>>>>>

Rustle—Rustle

"Hm? Oh, hey guys. What took you so...long..."

Kalina said nothing while walking pass her cousin. I stay with the guys.

"Ooh~ that girl's ticked~." I groan at Cool-Joe's remark.

"She caught you surfing, again."

"Who's got number 20," Bo hollers.

"Haha~! Muy bien...told you my number is lucky!"

Yeah, so, they started taking bets.

"We've been over dis, North," says Rasta, "no surfing during games or even practice."

"B-but, the forecast said there'd be perfect weather. How could I pass that up?"

Bark—Bark!

That's when Chestnut joins our circle. Tiger and Klaus pet him.

"Hey, Chestnut."

"Woah, he's getting big."

"He's almost a year-old, now."

"Don't change de subject, North. You know Kalina can't keep checking on you."

"Alright—alright, I'm sorry. It won't happen again."

"You said that on the 16th time."

"We know how much ya love water sports, mon...but it's not good ta' put yourself at risk, even if it's just practice. Dere is such a thing as taking it easy..."

"Sigh~...I know."

I glance at Kalina, sitting on the bench.

Don't get me wrong, I totally feel bad about this. I mean, walking from her cousin's place to the beach is, like, pretty far. And Coach didn't even ask; she's doing this on her own free will.
