Chapter 11

Ella woke up out of her sleep crying. She didn't know why but she was full on sobbing. Starting to have a panic attack. Ashton woke up to the sound and rushed to her room to see her in that state. He made his way over to her and pulled her into a hug.

"Your ok. It was just a bad dream." He said calmly.

Ella sniffled. "Can I sleep with you?"

Ashton nodded and helped her out of bed leading her to his room. She laid down on one side and he laid down on the other. Ella moved closer to Ashton and he put his arm around her with Ella's head on his chest.

"Just breath and listen to my heart beat." Ashton told her.

Ella nodded and slowly started to copy his breathing. His heart beat soon lulled her to sleep.

Ashton woke up the next morning early. He had the day off but he couldn't sleep. Luke came into the kitchen yawning.

"Hey man, what are you doing up?" Luke asked.

Ashton shrugged. "Couldn't sleep. Ella had a little bit of a rough night. She had a nightmare and started having a mini panic attack."

"I really hope she'll adjust soon." Luke said, grabbing some coffee.

"Same here."

Ella was still sleeping when Ashton went to check on her. He felt bad for her. She was struggling a lot. With her dad being dead and being in a new environment. On top of her already existing mental illnesses. Ella didn't have it easy.

He went back out into the living room and turned on friends until he saw Ella walk in. She sat down on the couch and Ashton paused the show.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Ok."

Ashton nodded. He didn't want to push her. He knew she didn't feel great.

"Do you think you can eat something?" He asked.

She shrugged.

"Can you try some eggs and a piece of toast?" Ashton asked.

Ella nodded. She followed him to the kitchen and sat down at the counter. Ashton grabbed the eggs and bread out of the fridge and started to make her food as well as his own. After cooking, he handed her the plate and he sat down next to her. When they were done Ashton cleaned up and Ella sat there.

"So what's going to happen with school?" Ella asked.

"Your going to be home for the next 2 weeks and then you'll go back. We're going to get your assignments online. You need a little time to heal before you go back."

Ella nodded. She was greatful that she wasn't being forced back to school right away. Even though she did school in the hospital, it wasn't the same. Less stress which was nice.

"What do you wanna do today?" Ashton asked.

Ella shrugged.

"Do you wanna watch some movies and then go for a walk?"

Ella nodded.

They watch movies for a couple hours and then had lunch. Ella had a hard time eating but Ashton helped to get her to eat a little bit. They then decided to go for a walk in the park.

It was kind of cool out. The leaves were changing color. Some had already fallen but majority were still on the trees. The park was mostly empty due to it being a week day. It was peaceful.

"Do you think I'll ever feel normal again?" Ella asked.

"There's no such thing as normal. You just need to learn how to deal with your emotions. It's perfectly fine to feel how you feel right now. You've gone through a lot."

Ella nodded. It helped to know that Ashton was willing to help her. After their walk, they went back home and watched some friends until Luke came home from work. They had dinner and then hung out in the living room watching more movies. Ella ended up falling asleep on Ashton's shoulder so he picked her up and brought her to her room.

As he put her down and was about to walk out, Ella grabbed his arm.

"Stay, please." She said in a quiet voice.

"Ok, I will."

Ashton crawled in on the other side and Ella laid her head on his chest falling back asleep. He loved this girl so much even though he had only known her for such a short amount of time.
