Stupid idea, Bongo.

It was Marceline's thought as she walked down the halls of the school that morning. It had been four days since that night at Finn and Jake's house, and since then she didn't had much time to see Bonnibel, since she was busy studying for a chemistry test that she would have that day. Which was a good thing, actually.  Great.

Because Marceline could barely look at her in the eye without blushing.

And she felt stupid for that, like a little girl from elementary school giving her first kiss. But that silly moment at Finn's house kept circling her head, repeating, repeating, an endless loop.

That night, she stayed awake for a long time, licking her lips, trying to recover a little of the taste of her lip gloss. Of all the strange feelings that got tangled in her stomach, there was one that came stronger, that made her sick, angry, incredulous.

She was frustrated.  Very, very frustrated.

Frustrated because that kiss was nowhere near enough. She wanted to rewind the time, sit back in front of Bonnie and really kiss her. For long enough for Bonnibel's taste to stay on her lips longer, enough so that she could hear the girl sigh at the end, reaching for air.

As drunk as she was, and as much as other moments of the night were blurs in her mind, that moment was absurdly alive in her memory.  Bonnibel's innocent face after that, her eyes locked on Marceline's lips for a few seconds before she looked her in the eye and smiled.

Marceline wanted so much. Wanted to put her pink hair behind her ear and kiss her on the forehead. Wanted to pull Bonnibel on her lap, kiss her mouth with her hand wrapped around her hair.  She wanted to keep that little naive look from her.

Wanted to drag her aside and give her a reason to lose that innocent face.

And that was where Marceline's heart was filled with hatred.  She was no longer able to react to things in a normal way.  Everything ever went to the carnal side, desperately. Any touch became an urgency, she no longer wanted to just enjoy a kiss, a moment. It was never enough.

After too much time using sex as a coping mechanism, her body lived at 8 or 80. It was all or nothing. We're not here to have fun, that voice in her head would say.  We are here to forget, Marceline. Just make her scream, okay? You need to forget.

It was at moments like this one, that she was the most disgusted with herself.

She staggered down the halls towards the outside area, ready to skip some classes. She hadn't the mind to study.  Finally, arrived at her usual place, sat down on the usual stone, lit her usual cigarette. Today, it was cherry flavoured.

She really wanted to taste something a little alike her fucking lip gloss.

Several, several minutes passed.  Maybe a few hours. The cig's pack was half gone. She felt dizzy, the blood pressure low. She didn't know if was because of the number of cigarettes in such a short time or because she hadn't eaten since lunch the day before. Maybe both. But fuck it anyway.

She hears a rustle in the fallen leaves.  Shit.  She turns to see who is approaching, and sees the top of the pink ponytail before seeing the girl.

Shit.

“Marcy! I knew you would be here",
says the girl excitedly. She was wearing the cheerleader uniform, and the short skirt didn't help Marceline's situation at all. She sat across from Marcy, and continued: “I missed you in history class. I just took my exam and I'm on free time, so I decided to look for you”.
