Summer (Dinally Fic)

Winner

Dinah gets to the competition on time. She looks up at the sky and sees the plane Ally was probably on fly over them.

Looking down, Dinah looks at Normani and Lauren, "I guess I gotta put my big boy pants on."

Normani who was sitting next to her gives her a hug, "You did all you could, maybe she will come back one day, now come on we gotta get going!"

Dinah hurried to check in, and got everything sorted out. They were lining up and Dinah stands next to Alessia.

Alessia finally notices Dinah standing next to her. Dinah nudges her with her elbow, "Hey good luck out there today."

Alessia was surprised at Dinah being nice to her, "Uh you too..."

Dinah turns to her, "For what it's worth, you're a great surfer, also thank you for not taking with my ex."

Alessia laughs, "Wouldn't do that to you, you're gonna kick ass today shark bait." The two girls get back in formation, and wait for the announcer to begin.

He smiles and begins to go over the rules.

Dinah breathes in and out. She knew every rule like the back of her hand. She closes her eyes to get herself in the game. The only thing she heard was her heart beat and the ocean.

With closed eyes, all she saw was Ally's smile pop up in her mind. She saw her beautiful face. She was happy. That's all she wanted for Ally.

The horn went off pulling Dinah out of her thoughts and she takes off. She hears the crowd go wild but she didn't care. As soon as she hit the water she paddled.

The surfers saw the first wave going up, Dinah was usually the first one there but she was behind. She tried to get on the wave but she slipped. She fell into the water. Dinah was embarrassed, the first point she could've gotten was lost.

Dinah gets back on her board but stops paddling once she hears somebody from the beach.

"...Dinah!..."

It couldn't be true. Dinah turns around and searches through the crowd, and she immediately locks eyes with Ally.

There she was, front and center in her beautiful white dress, cheering on Dinah. She looked like an Angel. She was the loudest just like she said on the boat.

Dinah smiles back, and she felt her confidence surge through her. She paddles to get back on the wave. Like something in her turned on, she surfed past a few other surfers putting her close in the lead.

She got her turns right. She was doing everything right. Her tricks, her riffs, her groove. Everything automatically came back.

Dwayne looks from the beach, "My babygirl, you got it!"

Ally smiles and cheers, "She's amazing!"

Dwayne and Stephanie notice Ally and hug her, "Sweetie what are you doing here?" Ally hugs them too and looks back to Dinah, "My home is here now, I couldn't leave it."

"Thank God, no offense Mr. and Mrs. Hansen but I don't know how I would've dealt with a sad Dinah." Normani says and the group laughs, "We are very glad you're here." Lauren says and they hug Ally.

They go back to watching Dinah. She was killing it.

The judges had her and Alessia in the top two by the time the competition had less than five minutes left. They were tied.

Everyone stood on their toes as they watch the two surfers wait on the last wave. Alessia and Dinah look at each other, and Dinah swims next to her, "Come here." Dinah says and gives her a hongi, "Look whatever happens after today it was a pleasure surfing with you."
