Chapter 50 — left boy

He left. He, who shall not be named any further, actually left.

Josh swore to himself that he wasn't going to go after the boy or check up on him. His resolve didn't last long, as the very next day he drove down to Dolce. The bakery was open. Josh knew that he said he was leaving last night. But still...

He walked into the bakery as if only to buy some baked goods — of course, he wasn't going to admit he was there to see the curly-haired boy, his ego just wouldn't let him. He wasn't there, instead he found Garcia.

"Hey, Josh," she failed to hide the surprise upon seeing him there, and he didn't even have to ask or say anything as she continued to talk, "Actually, um... you're here for him, yea, darling?" her voice was shaking already and just like that Josh knew. "I thought he'd have told you, my dear but um, he–,"

"Oh no, it's fine," Josh cut her off, as disrespectful as it may seem — Garcia actually was relieved that Josh intervened. "I just came here to buy some cookies," he forced a smile on his lips.

He came out the shop empty-handed anyways.

He left. He left. He left.

That's the only words that ran through his head throughout the drive back home and for the next upcoming days and nights.

He left.
