Sorry for the late update! I had a super busy weekend. To make up for not updating a lot this year, I will be posting a lot in the next couple of weeks. Not just on Saturdays. Also, my best friend is working on a cover for the book. Hopefully, it will be done in a month or two. Fingers crossed. Until then, I've put up a temporary cover. Enough with my babbling, here's the next chapter! :)

Tailia

After the vision, I stand there in shock for about two seconds. Then, I run out of there like there's no tomorrow. I turn down the hall and go straight into the girl's bathroom. I have to lean against the sink to keep my balance.

What the hell just happened?! I had a vision of a guy I just met who was about to get murdered by someone I apparently knew? Not just that but I could feel our fear. I was terrified for a guy I don't even know! I'm so confused right now. There isn't any more time for me to freak out because another person walks into the bathroom.

"Oh hey, Tailia. I didn't know you'd be in here," Zoey states, surprised. Zoey and I were friends from the Student Council. She was the secretary, and I was the president. Sadly, I couldn't be captain of both the soccer and the softball teams. Just softball. Some stupid rule about monopolies.

"Hey Zoey," I respond shakily.

"Is everything ok?" She asks. I try to hold it together, I really do, but that simple question mixed with my shitty morning and the vision breaks me.

"No," I tell her. And then, I break down and start rambling. "My morning can't seem to go right. I woke up late, got into a fight with my stepdad, and then ran into this really gorgeous guy that I embarrassed myself in front of. And then- and then."

"Ok. Take a deep breath and- wait. What the fuck happened to your face?!" Oh no. My make-up must have come off. Lie Tailia. Lie your ass off.

"I fell on my way out of the house this morning. Like I said, today just isn't my d-day," I hiccup. Good thing I'm a good liar. It helps to have years of practice.

"I'm sorry. Do you need help with your face? Ice? Bandages? Maybe I should take you to the nurse."

"No, no. It's fine. I promise." The nurse would be able to tell that I did not, in fact, fall on my face. Then, there would be a call home, and I would end up getting the beating of my life tonight.

"If you say so," she sighs, "That really does sound like a crappy day, though. But, some good did come out of it. You met a cute guy. What was he like?"

"He was... different. Not like a lot of the guys at the school. New too. I just felt so calm around him. It was like something was pulling me towards him. I don't really know how to explain it. I think the most interesting thing about him was that he was blind. Not that that's a big deal!" I shake my hands in front of me. "Or I mean, it is a big deal, but it isn't. Ugh. I'm not getting this right. Him being blind wouldn't make me not interested in him. I'm making a fool of myself aren't I?"

"A little. You're talking about Marcus?" she smirks at me.

"Yeah. How did you know?" I ask surprised.

"Other than the fact that he's the talk of the school, we're cousins."

"What? Wow. Um, please don't tell him I said anything. Especially about me calling him gorgeous."

"I won't say anything. He may be my cousin, but you're my friend. I am sworn to the girl code. My lips are sealed." she swears, making a zipping motion over her lips

"Thank you, and not just for keeping this between you and me, but for talking with me."

"No problem. What are friends for?"
