~Dustin~

/Tell me who you are/ Your father has forsaken you/

Left you with these scars/ Hate must never win/

Your love is not a sin/ Hold on my dear/ I'm coming home/

Don't let your fears/ Take control/ A fallen angel is what you are/

Hold on my dear, I'm coming home\

— "Coming Home" - Falling in Reverse 💛

"Maybe he's in shock?" Jack muttered as he wrapped himself in one of the blankets scattered around the living room.

Andrew didn't answer as he continued to stare at my contemplative expression. Obviously, they are werewolves because if they weren't they would have laughed at my conclusions. Which means, if I've summed up everything correctly, I have been followed by two werewolf brothers. Then saved by said brothers, then to be kidnapped and brought to their little secluded cabin in the woods for them to fix me up and feed me. Then, have all of this happen just for them to tell me they are bringing me home.

I couldn't help but laugh at the utter bullshit I've had to go through, all in one day. Screw Sundays at this point.

"Okay," I concluded, settling my laughing fit for the moment to finally get some answers. "I'm gonna ask simple yes or no questions. They shouldn't be hard to answer but if you have trouble just let me know."

I muttered the last part but Andrew seemed to catch it as he flashed me a sharp canine. "Woah, easy there boy." I mocked as I crossed my legs and covered my growing anxiety with one of the blankets. His teeth reminding me of a monsters when he snarled.

"Question one, werewolves, yes or no."

Both the brothers nodded making me nod. So it's official.

"Question two, you are letting me go tomorrow?" I asked, noting the apprehension filling both of their eyes.

After what felt like another private conversation between them, which I'm sure they were actually having now that I knew what they truly were, both of the brothers nodded curtly.

". . . Are you going to hurt me?" Before I could think, like usual, the stupid side of me had wondered allowed what I questioned since I had awoke in the random cabin. I visualized pushing a toddler back down into the old blanket fort I liked to make in my room all the time. The place where that kid belonged.

"Dustin I told you when you woke up!—"

Jack was cut off as Andrew stood from the couch and crouched in front of my spot on the floor in front of the fireplace. His attitude was different than usual and I couldn't help myself as I felt every bit of fear leave my body. It was almost as if his presence lifted all of the shit I put on myself. If that was magic I'm gonna need a lifetime supply for myself.

"We will never hurt you. In fact, we are here, and born, for the exact purpose of keeping you safe and lo—Dustin," He took a deep breath to prepare his next words. "In the end you will understand, but for now I ask that you listen to your gut for a second and not your. . . Brain. If it's even up there." By the end of Andrew's speech I couldn't help but realize how beautiful his true eye color was. It reminded me of dark chocolate, or the dirt found deep in the Earth. The place where you would find the roots of trees, deep and rooted. Looking into his eyes made me feel grounded, a feeling I hadn't felt in a long time. I couldn't help but wonder why he made me feel safe. Then his words seeped in and all I could think about was how my gut screamed to leap deep into his dirty brown eyes and memorize every speck of safety he provided. Before it was taken away from me again. . .

"W-why. I. . . I don't understand." My voice cracked as I forced myself to look away from his tantalizing gaze, the feeling lingered but I could feel my old demons re-emerging to fill their rightful place.

"Sorry, that's not a yes or no question." Jack teased as he stood to head into the bathroom again.

Andrew gave a small smile as he fully sat down in front of me. He took my injured arm, peeling back his shirt sleeve that completely covered my arm all the way down, even passing my fingertips to continue falling.

I looked ridiculous in his clothes but at least it smelled nice, a complete scent change from my clothes. His shirt sunk low making my collarbone visible, allowing the freezing cold Alterson air full access to my neck. If it wasn't for the fire behind me I'd be covered in goosebumps.

Jack came back from the bathroom holding a first aid kit in one of his hands and a brown bottle in the other. Giving the kit to Andrew, he found a new resting spot slightly behind me on the floor. I felt my nerves spike, bringing my body in a weird protective stance that allowed me to easily run if needed. Andrew caught on giving me a soft smile as he opened the med kit and took back my arm.

"This is going to hurt. The knife wasn't clean and we can't risk it getting infected. When you get home you will have to keep a close eye on it." Andrew spoke as he cleaned off the area around it and wiping away some dried up blood. The cut was big but thankfully I didn't need stitches and it didn't go too deep.

Andrew took the brown bottle from Jack and I immediately knew what was about to happen. I opened my mouth to tell him to stop but I was too late. The liquid pierced into my skin making me grunt as I bit down on my lip. I could feel Jack's hands on my sides as he rubbed up and down to comfort me. Weirdly, it worked as his touches left soft sparks all along my stomach.

After a while the pain dwindled to a dull stinging and Andrew continued to rub other substances on it before wrapping it up with a new wrap. Jack's hands didn't leave my sides as I looked over my arm. Moving it around to make sure everything was good. It still hurt like a bitch but it'll hopefully get better.

    "Are you smelling my hair?"

Jack snorted as he ruffled my hair and stood from his spot on the floor. Hoisting me up from my good arm so that everyone was now on their feet. I couldn't help but grumble at the height difference. Both of the brothers pretty much towered over me. Jack being slightly shorter than Andrew but it didn't make much of a difference.

A surprise yawn caught me of guard as I began to realize just how tired I was. Both of the brothers also yawned, the toll of the day finally catching up to them as well.

"It's probably best to get some more sleep. We'll bring you back home tomorrow afternoon." Andrew said as he lazily pushed me towards the couch.

I complied, being too tired to care at this point. Once I had gotten comfortable, blankets piled on top of me to keep warm, I felt my lids growing too heavy to hold up. And like that, I drifted off into the deepest and most peaceful sleep I've ever had.
