"Nana!!" My son, Awgaia, yelled running in from the side entrance, tears streaming down his face "Ada got killed by Orcs in the forest where we were shooting!!" He bawled. He then collapsed in the hall.

"Ion nîn!!" I cried. "Are you injured Awgaia?" I asked in shock, running to him. I was also in disbelief. My husband can't be dead, he just can't be. "I am fine nana." he whispered. "But Ada..." He said and then he burst into tears.

The front entrance doors whipped open suddenly. A horde of Orcs came running in. I ran with Awgaia in my arms. An arrow flew from one of the orcs' bows "NO!! AWGAIA!!"

I sat up. "Are you okay Maydrien ?!" My best friend Treinya asked me. "Was it another nightmare?" "I'm fine mellon. And yes it was another nightmare." I replied. "I'll get you some water." she said.

"You must get ready for the feast." Treinya said after getting me a cup of water. "What feast?" I asked. "The one for today." she replied. "The king of Mirkwood is coming.

I had forgotten about the feast. I got dressed in my green dress from Lord Elrond "I love that dress!!" Treinya exclaimed. "Thanks. You can borrow it whenever you like." I said and went to take care of Arwen until I was called.

"May!!" Arwen yelled when she saw me. She was only 19, to a common human she would look about 2 years old. "Arwen!!" I tickled her stomach and lifted her up onto my lap. I was her caretaker.

"How about we go on a nature walk this morning?" I suggested to the hyper child. "Ooohh can we collect acorns?" She asked. "Of course!!" I exclaimed laughing. "Don't forget your acorn bag!!"

As Arwen and I walked through the forest I picked out some yellow flowers to put in my hair for the feast. "Look at this acorn May!!" Arwen called. "It will look marvellous in your collection." I replied.

Treinya came down. "The King of Mirkwood will be arriving in a quarter of an hour she said. "Thanks." I said "Come now Arwen." I called. "We must go back." I said.

"I'm going to play with you this afternoon instead of May because she has important buisness." Treinya said to Arwen. "Yay!!" Arwen yelled as Treinya picked her up. "You aren't coming to the feast?" I asked. "Lord Elrond said that you are the only worker invited." she replied. I stayed silent.

When we got back to Arwen's room I tickled Arwen. "You behave for Treinya okay?" I said. "okay." she replied giggling. Treinya put the flowers in my hair before I left. "You look amazing." she said. "Thanks. I don't really." I replied. "You do too!! And have fun." she stated, hugging me.

I made my way to the feast. I was seated at the end beside one of the nicest chairs in the castle. "King Thranduil of Mirkwood!!" I heard Lord Elrond say in the hall.

King Thranduil walked in with Lord Elrond behind him. He had an expression on his face which clearly said "I am better than all of you." I bowed with the rest of the elves. Elrond was trying really hard to make Thranduil happy.

King Thranduil was seated beside me. The meeting started before the feast. "King Thranduil of Mirkwood." Elrond started. "I welcome you to Rivendell." He said. King Thranduil just gave a sharp nod of his head.

"We are here to speak about the Orcs." Elromd said. "They are making their way out-" Elrond was cut off by King Thranduil who spoke for the first time.

"Out of Mordor." He finished. He had a deep stare set in me with his vivid, blue eyes.

"I believe..." he continued moving his eyes onto Elrond. "That we should protect the boarders around Rivendell and Mirkwood against them." he finished. There was a collective whispering.

"What about the other kingdoms?" I accidentally said out loud, I blushed and covered my mouth. "There isn't enough forces to protect them." He said dismissively.

"What an ass." I thought to myself. The meeting soon ended. The feast came out. I was very hungry. "What is your name?" King Thranduil asked me just as I had taken a bite of salad. I choked on it. "M...*cough* Maydrien. Your heiness." I managed to cough out.

"Oh so you are Maydrien." He said, scanning up and down my body. "Well you seem okay for the job." he said. "Excuse me King Thranduil, but what job?" I asked.

"Had Elrond not told you?" he asked looking down at his rings with utmost boredom. I was beginning to dislike him more and more. "No sire." I said trying not to get mad.

"Oh." Thranduil said coldly. "You have been appointed the new caretaker of my 21 year old son Legolas." He turned his back on me and started talking to te Ellon next to him. "Great. Off to work for an arrogant King." I thought.

But there was something about him that gave me a feeling in my stomach that I hadn't felt in years.
