Rain Splashed (A Thranduil Fanfic)

3~ The King

We arrived at Mirkwood. We entered through the gates to the main castle. I was feeling very dizzy and sick.

"I don't feel so..." I fell off the horse and landed on the ground, I heard a crack from somewhere in my leg and all I remember is seeing someone in blue coming to me.

I woke up in a small room with a wet cloth on my head. "Hello?" I called out.

"Maydrien!! You're finally awake." an older lady said as she came bustling in. "I am Reyna, the medic of the castle." she told me as she set a tray of tea and fruit on my lap.

"The King will be in to see you shortly." she continued leaving. "eat up!!" She added and closed the door.

I finished the food and then realized that I was only in a low cut gown under the sheets. The door opened.

"Reyna told me you were awake." the annoying voice rang out in the air. King Thranduil stepped into the room and closed the door. "Do you think you could knock next time?" I asked with sass. "my lord." I added just in time.

"This is my castle, not yours." King Thranduil said. "you will start caring for Legolas tomorrow." He continued with a cold voice. "Thank you my lord." I replied trying not to get up and slap him. I was on my last nerve.

"And try staying on the horse next time." he added. That was it. I lost it. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" I yelled. "I AM NOT HERE TO BE RIDICULED AND HUMILIATED!!" I screamed at him.

Thranduil seemed very shocked at first but then. "You will not speak to me like that in my own castle." he said, his voice shaking with anger. "I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY STUPID ELLETHS IN MY CASTLE SO YOU HAD BETTER LEARN SOME MANNERS!!" He yelled.

"WELL WHY DON'T YOU LEARN SOME TOO BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY YOU DON'T KNOW ANY!!" I yelled back. Thranduil stepped closer.

Pain hit my cheek, tears came to my eyes. "You are under my power now, not Elrond's." Thranduil stated as his icy blue eyes bored into my darker blue ones.

He left with a swish of his cloak. "EGO MIBO ORCH!!" I yelled one last insult at the closed door. I looked in the mirror as a hand print formed on my right cheek. I put my head between my knees and cried. Reyna came in with a special oil and rubbed my face.

"You must have hit a nerve." she said ad the pain left. "I tried." I mumbled. I was kind of proud of myself for standing up to him. "I'll wake you tomorrow for work." Reyna said as she left.

"Thank you for helping me." I called as she closed the door behind her. Great first impression on the King. I thought, just great.

Reyna woke me and I took a bath before getting dressed and heading to the throne room.

I reached the door, pushing it open I walked up and kneeled before the King. "I am sorry for yelling my Lord." I said, not daring to look up. "I apologize as well." he replied. I was too lost for words. "I should not have hit you." he said.

I heard a hint of guilt in his voice as he said that. "Legolas!!" He called suddenly. A small young blonde haired elf came sliding into the roof. "Ada!!" He called running to the King.

"Ion nîn!!" He replied laughing for the first time since I had met him. "This is your new caretaker Legolas." Thranduil said gesturing to me. "Hi, I am Maydrien. But you can call me May." I said to Legolas.

"Do you like to play make-believe battle?" I asked as he just stared at me. "Because I do and I was wondering if you'd like to join me." I continued. "Ooohhh I love playing battle!!" Legolas said coming towards me.

"We need some battle gear. I know how to make any weapon out of reeds, and I'll teach you." I said to the bright eyed child. "Yay!!" He yelled running to me.

Legolas grabbed my hand. "I know where to find reeds!!" He said and started pulling me away. I looked back to Thranduil. He nodded at me and I thought I saw a small smile. This was a better day.

After playing with Legolas all day I went back to my room. Reyna was there just to check in.

"How was your first day? She asked. "I apologized to the King... And the King apologized to me." I said trying to hide my smile. "He apologized to you?" She asked In disbelief.

"Really he did. He said he shouldn't of slapped me." I told her. "Wow." she whispered. "He never apologizes for anything."

There was a knock on the door. "Come in." I called. it was a servant. "The King had invited you to dine with him in the dining hall in one hour." he said. "Thank you." I replied.

"I am impressed." Reyna said as soon as he left. He hasn't had anyone done with him on a night that wasn't a special occasion since his ex-lover left him." She said. "Lets find you a dress."

Hey guys I know this is the cliche fanfic part but I've always liked this part. It got a little aggressive there. 😏
