After the feast Elrond came over to me. "Maydrien, I have something to tell you." he began. "I know, I am going to go work for King Thranduil as the caretaker of his son." I said.
"How did you-"
"Thranduil told me." I cut him off. "Will you come visit?" I asked. "Of course I will." he replied.

~The next morning~
"Must you go?" Treinya whined as I packed some clothes and other personal items.
"Yes, it is the king's orders." I replied swinging the bag over my shoulder. We had planned to go the night before, after the feast but I had needed more time to pack.
"I'm going to say goodbye to Arwen." I told her and left. Arwen had two brothers, Elladan and Elohir. I was only caretaker of Arwen and I didn't know her brothers too well for they were always at training.
"Arwen?" I called quietly as I walked in her room. I heard sobs from the corner. "Arwen are you okay?" I asked rushing to her.
"You are leaving me." She sobbed, not looking at me. I pulled her onto my lap.
"I must leave Arwen, I have no choice." I replied tears coming to my eyes. I turned her to look at me.
"I don't want you to cry over me." I said to her. "You must be strong. I will be with you again sometime. I promise."
Arwen sniffed. "Okay. I will be strong. But I'm only doing it for you." she said defiantly. I laughed. "And keep working hard on your acorn collection." I added, smiling. She giggled, drying her eyes.
"The King is leaving now and you must come." a guard poked his head in and said as I hugged Arwen goodbye.
"Fine... Fine... I'm coming." I grumbled. I kissed Arwen on the head one last time before getting up. "Be good." I whispered in her ear, and left.
"Tolo ar nin." the guard said and we walked down to the gates. The guards all gave me cold stares. Once we got there I ran to Lord Elrond and bowed.
"Thank you my Lord for helping me." I said. "I will miss you Maydrien." he replied. We hugged.
"Come now, we have no time for sadness." A cold deep voice rang out. "Coming your highness" I said with slight sarcasm.
"You will be riding with Helnyei." A guard told me, as he led me to a blonde elleth on a brown horse. she helped me up with a warm smile.
"I haven't been on horseback in 213 years." I warned her. "It's fine." she laughed. "You'll live."
We started off, and I waved goodbye to everyone. After a bit Helnyei spoke. "How do you like the King?" She asked. "To be honest? I find him slightly arrogant." I whispered the last part to her.
"We all feel that way." she laughed. "He used to be much nicer and happier until his wife left him for a dwarf." she whispered. "He has always hated dwarves." I didn't answer.
"You will learn to endure him." she said. "I don't think I have a choice." I replied.
Still when the King looked at me, chills ran down my spine.
