"You look wonderful!!" Reyna exclaimed as I twirled in a dress I had found in my closet. The dress was blue, low cut, with white flowers on it.

"Really?" I asked in doubt. "Yes. You look very nice. I love how your blonde hair looks on the blue!!"

"Thanks." I laughed. I put my shoulder length hair in a braid before heading out to the dining hall.

"Thank you for the invitation my King." I said bowing to Thranduil when I got to the hall.

"Call me by my name." he demanded with a slight smile.

"Come sit down and eat." he said pointing to the chair beside him. I sat down trying not to be clumsy, elves are graceful... until they get nervous.

"Thank you my Ki- I mean Thranduil." I said mentally hitting myself. "It's my pleasure." he replied staring into my eyes. After a while he seemed to realize what he was doing and started eating so I started as well.

I was eating some salad when he spoke. "How old are you?" He asked. I choked... Again.

"1,417" I spat out and grabbed some wine. "Do you always choke when eating?" He asked with a bit of a sneer.

I was about to sass him but then he spoke. "I am sorry. I'm not used to thinking before I speak." He said quietly, blushing. I looked down at my plate and mumbled, "I choke when I'm nervous."

"Are you enjoying Mirkwood?" Thranduil asked after a while of awkward silence. "I love Mirkwood." I replied. Except for the spiders that are rumoured to live in the forest." I added with a shiver. "I hate spiders."

"But at least I can kill them." I said which made Thranduil laugh. "I made a good choice in elleths for my son's caretaker." he replied as he put his hand on mine. "A fighter, smart, and beautiful." It was my turn to blush.

We talked about small unimportant things the rest of the meal. I went back to my room and told Reyna everything.

"Wow." she said when I had finished talking. "He really likes you." I blushed. "He's probably like that to every new staff member." I mumbled looking out the window.

"He is never that nice to anyone. Especially his own staff." She whispered, I didn't answer. "I'll see you tomorrow." she said after a bit. "See you tomorrow." I replied smiling at her.

I decided to go outside and do some night yoga, an ancient practice that opens the muscles, and clears the mind.

I was just beginning when I heard footsteps behind me. "Do you mind if I join you?" The familiar deep voice asked. I turned to look into Thranduil's vivid blue eyes.

"Not at all Thranduil." I replied smiling. We started stretching and he was very experienced. "I used to do this with my wife." Thranduil said. "I used to do this with my husband." I replied.

We were in a pose called "Crying Wolf" when he turned to me. "Your hips should be positioned more powerfully." he said as he got up.

"Here..." he put his strong hands on my waist and pulled them back slightly. I felt chills run down my spine. There." he said. "Thank you." I replied.

"Why do you not speak of yourself much?" Thranduil asked. "I stopped talking to people much, and became awkward in conversation when my husband died." I stated awkwardly.

We did yoga for a bit longer and then went for a walk. "What happened to your husband?" Thranduil asked. "He was killed by orcs about 400 years ago." I replied, seeing flashbacks of the day.
