"Another semester done, baby!" I said, jumping on my bed. "I'll finally take a break from studying."

"No one told you to study like your life depends on it, girl," Sky, one of my best friends said.

"To her, it does," Lilly, my other best friend said, rolling her eyes playfully.

I met Lilly and Sky in freshmen year of college. We were all lost and we kept wandering around the campus until we found someone to help us.

I rolled my eyes jokingly, and stuck my tongue out at them. "It doesn't matter, we have the next three months to ourselves!" I said.

"Amen to that!" Sky said.

"So, what's the plan for today?" Lilly asked. "I'm in the mood for a movie night."

"Actually, I'm going to Alex's today. I haven't given him attention in ages. So, I'm surprising him today," I said.

Alex was my boyfriend, we've been dating since we were 16.

When we first started dating, we were inseparable. But now, I can't say so. We both go to different universities, so we rarely see each other anymore.

Sky and Lilly rolled their eyes. "Come on, Riley, he's an asshole, why are you still dating him?" Lilly asked.

I was about to argue with her when my door burst open, revealing my annoying older brother, Ryan. "Ever heard of knocking?" I asked.

"No time for dumb bickering, I have the best news ever," he said.

"What 'news'?" Sky asked, crossing her arms over her chest. "Ryan Browns I swear to God if it involves your sex life I will—"

"Shut up for a second and listen to this," he said, cutting her off. "Riley, you know my best friend Leon, right?" he asked.

"Um...no, I only know Nate," I said.

"Doesn't matter, the point is, he invited all of us to spend the summer break in his parents' mansion in Hawaii!" he announced.

"I am SO in!" Lilly said, and Sky agreed.

"I'm out," I said. "I want to spend the summer with Alex. We have to fix our relationship."

"Oh, come on!" Sky said. "You're passing up and opportunity to go to Hawaii and live in a mansion for three months for your asshole boyfriend?"
