they say people who play hard to get are the most fun to be around, but hyunjin simply did not want to be romantically involved with anyone. she was a complicated person and knew that dating someone would lead to tears and heartbreak for the other person. it's not that she doesn't have a heart, she just doesn't have feelings romantically towards other.
it's more in her nature to mess around with someone then cut off the strings. she liked to see and understand multiple options—in this case people. cruel it may seem, but that's just the way she lives her life. some may call her heartless or selfish, but how many times does she get hurt? zero, because no feeling involved.
no one can change the way she is and that's just the way it is.
