"Mum, Dad.. I need to tell you something." I stated, placing my cutlery back on the table.
I felt confident with my choice of coming out tonight. My parents were in a happy mood, and thats when it should be done."You can tell us anything, Callie!" my mother assured me, he brown eyes glistening slightly.
"Yeah! Anything." my father grinned over at me, giving me a boost of confidence."Well, I'm.. I'm transgender and I would like you both to call me by Corey. Please?"
Mums face changed. She stood up and slammed both of her hands on the table. "You're going to tell us that you're a faggot, too, aren't you?!"
Dad also stood up. I was worried that he was going to say the same thing until he started defending me. I cowered in my seat and told my sister to go to her room, as a fight was starting. I decided to go with her to make sure she wouldn't hear what they were talking about. She hugged me before I made sure that she was in her bedroom as I listened to their argument.
"Callie, what's a faggot?" she asked innocently.
"Its a very bad word that bad people use. I'm not saying that Mum is bad, she just doesn't realise." I smiled. She nodded and closed the door. I leaned against the stair railing and started to cry. A loud slap was heard, making my eyes go wide.
My father grunted in pain, meaning that it was Mum who slapped him. If I can even call her that... I was so lost in thought that I didn't notice them come up the stairs and the lights turned off. I went downstairs to clean up the dishes and get some water, but not before noticing the cabinet of alcohol."If shes not accepting me, I should be allowed to steal some... right?"
By the end of the night I was passed out in the lounge room, empty Vodka bottle in my hand. I awoke to my father looking horrified as he shielded my sister.
"Callie, what are you doing?!" he asked.
I shrugged as I stood up, rubbing my forehead from the pounding headache. "Blame mum. And call me Corey!"
Speak of the devil, my mother walked into the room. I frowned and stood up. "I'm going to school."
"What the fuck happened to you?" Bailey asked, wrapping her arm around my shoulder.
I grunted and shook my head."Hair looks good." I could tell she was trying to lighten the mood, as it had been cut weeks before this.
"I know."
We sat in front of our English classroom, staring at the people walking by.Short chapter, I know! Don't worry, the juicy things will start soon!
