"I'll miss you." Dad whispered, hugging me tightly.
"Yeah.. same." I took my bags and stepped on to the bus, nowhere near ready for this massive transition. When dad said a few towns over, I thought he meant a two hour drive or something. Boy, I was wrong. When it got dark, I thought we had missed Newcastle, but the signs said it it was a 683 kilometer drive. Fuck, thats a long time.
When the bus took a pitstop to change drivers, I got off to get myself food from the store just next to the station.
Dad taught me the importance of food on the day before I left. He could've left it at a sentence or two, but nope!Once morning came, the bus stopped near the school and I walked to it, using the directions that Dad gave me.
"Hey, you going to Newcastle
High?" someone asked.
I nodded and they assisted in leading me to the direction of the high school.
"What's your dorm number?"
I looked at the messages that Dad sent and one of them stated 'B36'. I showed them.
"Oh, you're paired with James. Good luck." they chuckled.
"Why 'good luck?'" I asked quietly.
The boy explained the friendgroup that James was in. With each sentence my eyes grew wider and my nerves were through the roof."I'll see you around?" The boy, known as Nico grinned as we stood outside my dorm.
"Yeah! See ya!" I smiled.
Before walking into the nightmare pen, I took a deep breath.Five people were in the room. One of them typing ferociously on their phone, another reading, the two people cuddling the boy who was reading and one other. He was set up with an acoustic guitar and singing to the music that he played. When I walked in, he was the only one who noticed, and I tried to keep it that way.
My plans failed miserably. The only girl was the person on her phone. She smiled up at me. "James, he's here!"
The boy who was reading stood from his spot on the floor, adjusting his —might I add adorable— glasses."Hey, newbie!" He grinned.
I smiled nervously and placed my shit on my bed.
Honestly, I was doing great at not being intoxicated. Dad would be proud.. I hope."He's smaller than I thought he'd be.." the guitarist thought out loud.
"Well, maybe it's because I'm- nevermind.."
The boys eyebrows raised, a smirk painted on his face. "Continue."
My eyebrow twitched and I unpacked my bag, making sure that the trans flag that dad bought me was hidden underneath my clothing.
"Hey, I told you to continue!"
"Go to Hell!!" I yelled, slamming the drawer shut.Everyone in the room had wide eyes, and the one female was definitely nervous.
"Felix, don't you dare!" The one named James ordered. "And Corey, what the fuck?!"
My head hung low as I continued to unpack my belongings.
The five people were speaking to each other, so I just ignored their presence. They all went to what they were doing before and I sat on my bed, pulling out my book.
"You got any friends here?" James asked.
Great. Small talk. I rolled my eyes subtly. "No, I just moved here today." I didn't understand why I felt the need to tell these people that, but I did anyway.James definitely tried his hardest to get closer to me, yet failed miserably.
A/N- holy shit, I didn't expect anyone o read this
