The first thing you saw was darkness, followed by a feeling of being enclosed in something warm as if you were in your mother's womb. You hear the thumping of your heart, followed by the flowing, wooshing sounds of the space you were enclosed in.

Then, you feel yourself getting heavier. You started to slip away, falling down from the enclosed space you were in. You landed on the ground below you, feeling the rough texture of the floor. Slowly, you open your eyes.

Your memories are quite hazy, you knew you weren't supposed to be here, that's for sure. You looked down at yourself. The first thing you noticed was rusty red-colored fur covering your torso, and legs. You see a fox's tail wagging behind you. You seem to be able to control it as you swayed it from side to side. You look at your hands and arms, it was segmented and hard to the touch, as if you had an exoskeleton. You feel your face and your head. You had triangle-shaped ears protruding from the top of your head.

"What...what am I?"

Looking up from where you fell from, you see rows and rows of greenish-yellow balls with something living inside each of them. It didn't take you that long to realize that they were eggs.

You knew you didn't belong here, you had to get away from here, no matter what. You clutch the side of your head as your memories slowly flowed back to you.

After exploring NGL and getting a grasp of the Chimera ant situation. Kite, Killua, and Gon decide to retire for the night. They camp out in the woods near a cave. While Gon and Kite were soundly asleep, Killua rose quietly in the dead of night, unable to sleep. He decided to take a walk around the area in hopes that it will tire him out. Putting his hands in his pockets, he leisurely walks into the dense group of trees.

You happened to be walking in those same woods. All the while looking back to make sure no one was following you. You let out a shaky breath as you continue trudging forward.

He heard something. The snap of a twig. Suddenly, all his senses were heightened, as he assumed a fighting stance.

'Someone's here.'

He slowly, silently made his way towards the source of the noise. Soon enough, a figure emerged in the darkness. It was you.

'A chimera ant!'

You saw the silver-haired boy and screamed in fear, dropping to your knees and squeezing your eyes shut while shaking in fear. You quickly tried to protect yourself with your arms. "Please, please don't hurt me... I'm not one of them, I swear!" You plead at the boy.

Killua relaxed at the sight of your trembling form. He cautiously approached you and crouched down to your eye level.

"Not one of them? You certainly look like one if you ask me."

You relax slightly as you opened your eyes once more, looking at the blue-eyed boy in front of you. "I-I'm not... they killed me... they turned me into... this," you say shakily, gesturing to your fox-ant form.

His eyes widened. "So, you have all your memories from when you were human?" he asks. You nod. "I see, what's your name?"

You frown, struggling to remember your own name. "(Y/N), I think."

He raises an eyebrow, "Your memories are still foggy, huh? I'm Killua."

You nod once more, unsure of what more to do.

"Where are you going?" He asks once more.

"I'm trying to get back home,"

He frowns. "No, you can't. There will be people who will hunt you down, regardless of what you say to them. It's too dangerous," he stands up and offers you a hand, you take it gingerly. He helps you up.

"What...do I do then?" You ask quietly.

"You need to hide. Hide somewhere where they won't find you." He lets go of your hand. "Good luck," he says, lazily raising his hand as if to say goodbye, and starts walking away.

In a panic, you grab his sleeve. "Wait, please... don't go," you beg meekly. "Can, you...help me hide?"

He turns to look back at you. His eyes softened before sighing loudly. "Sure, let's go."

You settle in a hidden cave deeper in the woods, with trees so thick and dense surrounding you there was no way anyone would be able to find you unless they knew exactly what they were looking for.

Killua helped you settle down inside. You hug your knees and started crying silently.

"O-Oi, are you okay, (Y/N)?" Killua asks, slightly panicking.

"Y-yeah.. I-i'm just scared..." you reply in between sobs.

He looks at you worriedly, before hesitantly slipping an arm around you in an attempt to comfort you. You freeze in shock for a moment, but you slowly leaned onto his warm touch as he rubbed the side of your arm up and down.

"Don't worry about it. I'll make sure no one lays a finger on you. You have my word on that," he says reassuringly.

"Hmm..." you nod contentedly, closing your eyes and letting yourself melt at his touch. You let your tail wrap around Killua as you did so. After a while, you've completely calmed down.

"Hey, Killua. Can we stay like this for a while longer?" You ask. Looking up at his deep blue eyes.

He blushed the lightest pink, before saying, "Yeah, no problem." He says as he wraps his other arm around you, embracing you fully as he let his head rest on top of your own. You rest your head on his chest, listening to his calm, rhythmic heartbeat.

Slowly, but surely, you fell into a deep sleep, with him right by you.
