(Chapter 22- Forgiven)

“Are we there yet?” I asked Austin again.

“No.” He said.

I decided to wait a few more minutes and ask again. After all I had a right to know where he was taking me.

As soon as I opened my mouth again he interrupted me.

“No, and if you ask me again I’m going to tape your mouth shut.” He laughed.

“But I want to know.” I whined.

“And you will.” He aid looking at the clock in the car. “In 5 minutes.”

I took a look at our surroundings and looked back to Austin. Really? In a few minutes? We are practically in the middle of nowhere. If a few minutes we would just be further back in the middle of nowhere. I must be missing something.

“Um… are you sure you’re not lost?” I asked him.

“No.” He said finally.

I sighed and decided to just let him drive. Besides if he did get lost it would be more fun because I would never let him live it down. What life without a little teasing?

“I told you we weren’t lost.” He said pulling beside the road.

“Really? Because it looks like we still are.” I said looking into the woods.

He got out of the car and rounded it to my side and opened the door for me.

“Just trust me.” He replied.

“Fine.” I sighed getting out.

I swear if this boy gets me lost in the woods somewhere and we get eating alive by bears or something then I’ll kill him.

Wait that didn’t make since because then we would already be dead. Well I’ll…I’ll be mad at him up until the point we are eaten.

“What are you thinking about?” He asked pulling me further into the woods.

“Oh just wondering if we’re going to make it out alive.” I said casually.

He chuckled. “We’ll make it.”

“How do you know? What if there are wolves out here or something?” I shot.

“There are no wolves around here only bears.” He said.

I stopped dead in my tracks and pulled away from him. “Bears?”
