Young and naive, the poor boy. Desperate for a love he saw only in movies and read only in the novels he encountered in the library near his home, the love he saw in the people he encountered in his pack. Mates. Oh how he wished he had one, someone to share his life with. He dreamt of someone that would hold him tightly and kiss his hand with tenderness, gave him a look full of softness, one that would make him melt and submit to his lover willingly. He was an artist, and his eyes were made to see beauty within everything, within the smallest nooks of unseen spaces. His eyes never saw beauty within the animals that looked at him, they were lustful and terrifying. The eyes were the window to the soul, and he knew it was true. Never did he let a dog lead him astray, or a pretty word sway his thinking, no, he would wait. He would wait until he saw those eyes he longed for, the eyes of his future lover, his mate, and if he never found them, then he would gladly sleep with no awakening knowing he waited, knowing he was loyal. He will look at me like I am his world, he thought, and this thought a lone brought a smile to his face every night.
