:Part 3:

we didn't speak for about a month after the day in the rain. though i often stole glances at you during school, i never once caught you looking back at me. was i invisible now? did you just not care? i tried to not let myself overthink things, even though there wasn't really much to overthink, we were strangers.

one day, i sat on the rooftop, eating my lunch away from the noise of the cafeteria. i enjoyed sitting up here, especially on days with a slight breeze, the silence was nice.

i was surprised when i heard the door to the roof swing open, squeaking on its old hinges. i refused to turn around though, afraid to be met by a teacher and get in trouble for being in the forbidden space. only when i heard the deep cough emerge from your throat did i turn around to meet your form.

"you know you shouldn't be sitting on the edge, you could fall."

there it was, the melody i missed so very much. but being the stubborn teenager that i was, i turned back around to face the scenery of the town, ignoring your words.

a sigh escaped your lips, then i noticed you swinging your legs over the ledge to sit beside me.

"pft," i scoffed, "hypocrite."

out of the corner of my eyes, i could see you look at me with a stern death glare.

we sat in silence, as we both ate our lunch, the only sound being the crunch of food and the wind rustling the leaves in the trees. suddenly a question lingered in my mind, one i've wanted to ask for a while, but i was hesitant. luckily you beat me to it.

"what's your name?"

i choked on my food at the unexpected question,  swallowing quickly before answering you.

"park jimin."

"park jimin"  you repeated, as if to test the name on your lips before you smiled, a small smile, gums on display, dropping the bad boy facade just long enough for me to see the friendlier side of you.

"i'm min yoongi."
