The Move - *Maddie's POV*
I sat in the back of the cab looking around. New York was so beautiful around Christmas but I did miss my family and I really didn't know anyone, sure the principal at the school invited me to join him and his family but I hate to intrude.
I watched as we pasted buildings all decked out and trees that were as bright as the sun, then the ice skating rink caught my attention. I had never been roller skating let alone skate on real ice. I watch as couple shared special moments that they would never forget and kids just trying to out do each other.
"Miss we are here" The driver spoke, snapping me out of my thoughts
"That will be $30" I smiled handing him the money as I grabbed my bags from the boot
"Thankyou" I replied walking into the door of the apartment building
Why did I have to get a room on the top floor? Sure it was only 7 floors but the elevator was in use and took its sweet time so I just walked up the bloody stairs, not a great start..
I unlocked the door falling face first on the couch, sleep sounded so good right now as I had been on a plane for more then 24 hours but it was 3pm and i would be up at like 8pm. But then again I could look around the city a little and find food....
I jumped up having a shower and getting into my pj's when I heard a knock on the door
"Hello?" I asked the young guy
"I think I have the wrong apartment" He laughed to himself
"Well depends on who you want?"
"My friend Mark"
"Not here, sorry"
"It's okay, he only moved here a week ago and well gave me 19 as his apartment number"
"Well it only goes to 25 so maybe 9?"
"That makes sense, Thank you... ahhh?"
"Maddie"
"I'm Wade" He smiled shaking my hand
"See you around Maddie" He smiled running down the stairs
Maybe there is some weird people in this city, but if that is called being nice then I'm screwed
I laughed to myself, finally getting to lay down.
