💔 Part 7

Kartik 's pov

I was crying continuously when a idea popped in my mind. I took out my laptop and decided to track Sara's number from the hacking software. I entered her number and it immediately showed the location. I was shocked. Her phone was near my office. I saw the location and ran down to the backside of my office. I saw Sara's car. I opened it and saw her phone lying there.

I checked the call log. Last call was from an unknown phone number.
I tried to call the number but no one picked the call. I moved ahead of the car. When I heard some noises from basement and I think I heard someone crying. I went downstairs.

Sara's pov
I heard footsteps. I prayed and prayed that it is someone who'll help me. The shadow approached me and I saw Kartik !! Relieve filled within me.

Kartik 's pov

I reached downstairs and what I saw was unimaginable. I saw Sara lying there. Naked ! Bruised ! Bleeding ! She was almost unconscious. I slowly went to her. I cried and cried and then I realised she should be taken to the hospital right away.
I wrapped a cloth on her body. And picked her up. She screamed due to pain and then became unconscious.

I ran to my car. It was early morning. Noone was there in the office to take help from. I settled her in the backseat and drove furiously. I reached the nearby hospital in 10 minutes.
I took her in and the doctor immediately admitted her.

I sat on a chair and cried my heart out. I was crying uncontrollably. I then called Kriti and asked her if she can come she said she is on the way.

It was a sudden shock to me. My mind thought of the worst. How did she reach the basement ? Why did she come to my office and whose number was that which called her last night ?? Questions took over my mind when I heard a nurse.

" Sir. Doctor is calling you in. " She said.
I stood up and went in the doctor 's cabin.

" Shraddha How is Sara ? Is she safe ? What happened to her ? " I asked her crying.

" Kartik. Calm down , drink water. " She said.
She is one of the most successful and famous doctor of India. She is my childhood friend. Miss Shraddha Kapoor.

" Please tell me how she is. " I pleaded.

" Someone tried to kill her. She is having problem in breathing. If she is not stable in next 10 hours. The condition can become critical. And..." She stopped.

" And ? " I asked my voice shaking.

" Kartik. Sara was raped brutally. " She said.

My world collided then and there. I almost fainted. Who the fuck touched my Sara ? I swear on God I won't leave him alive.

" Kartik. Calm down. " Shraddha said as I started crying uncontrollably.
I cried so much that my eyes were swollen. I felt another hand on my shoulder I look behind and saw Kriti.
I got up and hugged her tightly. I cried on her shoulder.

Since me and Sara met 5 years back Kriti became my bestfriend too.

She rubbed my back.
" Calm down Kartik. Shhh..." She said while she herself cried.

" Doctor how did it happen ? " Kriti asked Shraddha once I was a bit normal.

" I cannot tell that. But I can tell one thing for sure who ever they were. They wanted to kill Sara. " Shraddha said.

" They ? " I asked shivering.

" Yes. She was raped by 3 people. " Shraddha said.

I fell down on the ground. No more tears came out. It was a state I can't explain. I was sitting there like a statue. I could not hear anything. My vision became blurry. My mind just wanted to kill those people.

I got up and ran to the ICU. To see Sara.
I went in and stumbled on my foot. Her face was bruised badly. Drips were connected to her all over her body.
She wore a oxygen mask.

I went closer to her. I kept my hand on her hand and started crying.
I felt a movement and looked up to see Sara's finger moving.

I sat beside her trying to hide my tears. She held my hand. I saw her crying. Suddenly her breathing was unstable.

I rushed out and called Shraddha. She came running. Kriti came in too.
Shraddha asked us to move out for a while. We went out and sat on a bench.

My phone started ringing after a while. I saw the caller ID and panicked. It was Sara's mom.

What would I tell her ?? That all the promises I did while marrying her a fail ? That I couldn't protect their daughter ?

It declined and then rang again. I picked it up gathering all the courage.

" Hello " I said , trying to stable myself.

" Hello Kartik beta. Did you find Sara ?? Any news about her ? Please tell me she is safe. " She asked crying.

I couldn't control and started crying. Kriti took the phone from me and put it on speaker.

" Hello Aunty. " Kriti said

" Hello Kriti. You are there ? Is Sara back ? " She asked.

" Aunty wo actually...sa...ra...is...in...t...he...hos...pit...al. " Kriti stammered.

" Hos...pital but why beta. " Sara's mom asked shocked.

" Aunty...some...one...trie...ed to...kill her...and...raped her. " Kriti said.

I heard no sound from the other side for 5 minutes and then heard Sara 's Mom crying.

" Which hospital beta ? " Her father asked.

" General hospital uncle. " Kriti said.

" We are coming. " He said and declined the call.

I stood up and leaned to a wall near the ICU door. I felt and a hand on my shoulder. I looked back to see police standing there.

" Mr. Kartik. Can we talk to you ? " The inspector asked.
I nooded. We went to a corner.

" Mr Kartik we are extremely sorry about what happened. We'll try our best to find those bastards. " He said.

" We'll have to record your wife's statement once she gets up. I hope you understand. " He said.
I nooded and went inside the ICU.

I saw Sara up. Looking directly towards the ceiling. Shraddha was there too.

" Kartik. I want to talk to you. Please come to my cabin. " Shraddha said.
I nooded and followed her to her cabin.

" Kartik her breathing is stable but there is something else to worry about. " She said.
I looked at her wide eyed.

" Sara is not able to forget last night. She is slowing entering depression and we fear if she does not gets any better she can also go to coma. " Shraddha said.

My tears have dried up. Not a single tear left my eyes. I sat there numb.
Someone called Shraddha to check some patient so she left the cabin.

I sat there thinking what could happened with my Sara ? Who could have done it ?

My mind thinking upon everything and there was no conclusion. I sat there for almost which felt like eternity. I heard Kriti rush in.

" Kartik come fast. " She said.
