I Still Cared

Why did you have to leave me?

I never did you any wrong

When everyone left you, I was still there

I thought that you might've cared

Those long days and sleepless nights

I supported you, with my undying love

But then you set your eyes on new sights

And decided to say goodbye

Who was there for you when you were feeling down?

And distracted your mind off all the bad things

But you kept falling down that hole

Till you drowned

Things got worse, but then they got better

I thought you actually cared about saving yourself

But you slipped away again

And put my heart on a shelf

I guess I could have tried harder

To change your mind

But I was too dumb to realize

That things were that bad

But now that I know your secrets

No one could have cut you down to size

But now you're gone

There's nothing left in those empty, soulless eyes

But I guess after you've fallen that far

And no one can pick you up
