What are you dreaming?
You stay up late at night
For joyful play, not for spite,
But I stay up now 'cause tears are streaming.

Why do you smile and laugh?
Your friendships, they won't last.
You'll grow to miss the past
While I wallow in regrets of your path.
They say to get help--
"You can't hide from yourself"
But then who would I be
Without this disease?

Why are you crying?
You've faced no stormy sea.

Only writing is when I'm not lying.
You say it's your fault,
But I think it's mine.
This mask has been here so long,
It's too late to say I'm not fine.

Why do you behave so well?
Why do you hold your tongue?

Did I put on the mask that young?
