Chapter 10: Heart Monitor

A couple of days later I decided to go see what Derek was doing as it was a Saturday and I had nothing better to do. I walked to the house and went in

"Hey," I said

"Hi," he called jumping down from the balcony

"So you got anything planned today?" I asked

"Yeah, I'm going to to help Scott want to join me?" He asked

"Sure, I got nothing else better to do," I replied

We walked to the shopping mall and went to the car parking area

"What are we doing here?" I asked

"I'm doing a surprise attack on Scott so stay low and follow me," he orders

I listened and watched as Derek rolled back Scott's milk to him and Scott sped off with Derek in tow. I ran quietly behind Derek as he followed Scott, then suddenly all I could hear was car alarms until I heard Scott phone and so did Derek as he grabbed Scott from on top of the car

"You're dead." Said Derek as Scott laid on the car

"Hi," I said jumping off the car roof next to them that I was sat on

We all started walking back to Scott's grocery's

"What the hell was that?" said an annoyed Scott

"Said I was gonna teach you. I didn't say when," replied Derek

"And what are you doing here," Scott asked me

"I just decided to tag along," I replied

"Well, You scared the crap out of me Derek!" Said Scott

"Not yet," Derek replied

"Okay, but I was fast, right?" asked Scott

"Yeah," I replied,

"but Not fast enough." Carried on Derek

"But the car alarm thing, that was smart, right?" Asked Scott

"Till your phone rang," I said

"Yeah, but that was I mean Would you just stop? Please? What happened the other night, Stiles' dad getting hurt, that was my fault. I should have been there to do something. I need you to teach me how to control this." Scott shouted

"Look, me and Ruby are what we are because of birth. You were bitten. Teaching someone who was bitten takes time. I don't even know if I can teach you." Said Derek

"You taught me so you should be able to," I said to Derek, he nodded at me

"What do I have to do?" Asked Scott

"You have to get rid of distractions. You see this?" Derek said grabbing Scott's phone off him "This is why I caught you. You want me to teach you? Get rid of her." Derek finished

"What, just because of her family?" Scott asked then Derek turned "Wait, wait, wait Whoa!" Scott said but it was too late Derek smashed his phone against the wall breaking it into a million pieces

"Derek!" I shouted as he threw it

"by tapping into a primal animal rage, and you can't do that with her around." Said Derek

"I can get angry," Scott replied

"Not angry enough! This is the only way that I can teach you. Now, can you stay away from her? At least until after the full moon?" Derek said

"If that's what it takes." Said Scott

"Do you want to live? Do you want to protect your friends? Yes or no?" Asked Derek
