Chapter 9: New House Vibes

Just two weeks later they closed on their new house. It was the second weekend of October Ollie and Colton helped them along with Dylan get all the big furniture moved. James also chipped in as well. He and Winnie had been going to therapy to help them be able to co parent better.

The therapy helped both of them see that a lot of their problems stemmed from. Bucky was in Athens with Kandi Tucker and Corey. He went up after the football game the night before.

Winnie had the boys help her fix Bucky's room up for him. As she put a picture frame on his shelf she smiled a small smile. It was a picture from his 7th birthday when James found him a snow globe with a fire truck in it. He was all smiles with the two of them sitting on either side of him.

James came up behind her. "Two of his favorite things Snowglobes and fire trucks." He said

She let out a laugh. "Till he broke this snow globe and cried for three days." She said

"I eventually found him another one. I don't know what happened to it though." James said

"I think we put it up so he wouldn't break it. He loved to shake them over and over." She said as they finished putting more pictures on his shelf.

"Then it must be in the storage building we need to go through." James said as he went back to fixing the dresser.

Mitch came in and said "Chinese is here."

"Great I'm starving." James said as he left

Winnie held the picture of when she was holding a two year old Bucky  while they both slept . She sat down on the bed.

"What happened to my baby boy?" She said as a tear rolled. She wiped it away and put it on the shelf.

She picked pictures for his room to show that even though things were hard now. That he needed to remember the good times not the bad times. She left his room and shut the door behind her.

Cassidy fixed up her room on her own. She didn't chose any bright colors she kept it simple and dark colors. She was laying in her new bed sleeping as everyone else ate Chinese. Mitchell came upstairs when he noticed that she was missing.

He saw that her room was done and she was sleeping. He gently woke her up she slowly opened her eyes.

"Hey we got Chinese baby. You need to come eat something. You can sleep afterwards." Mitchell said

Cassidy followed him downstairs and ate with everyone else. Once all the moving was done she was able to go back to sleep. On Sunday Bucky returned home James took him to Winnie's.

"Wow..talk about mom's dream house. First her dream ring and now her dream house." He said

"Your mama was always a sucker for modern farmhouses. Unfortunately she didn't like the good ol country boy that comes with it." James said

"Psh. She loved you at some point dad but grandpa got in her head. I'm sure that is what happened. Yeah the only good thing I guess I could say is my babies are half breds. Half trust fund and half country. And I'm sure that really rips his ass from the grave." James said

"Yeah." Bucky said

"Listen son. When you go in there try to not hurt your mom. I understand that you are angry but lashing out at her isn't the way to be. She did what she thought was best for her and I. I was just to blind to see that it wasn't working for us anymore. And your mama seems so much more happier since she's been with Mitch. So can you please make this a little easier on us." James said as he picked at a string on her steering wheel.

Bucky looked down. "I'm gonna go dad." He said then got out of the truck.

He met Winnie and Mitch on the front porch. "Hey.." he said then went inside.

"You and Cass have the whole second level to yourselves." Mitch said as Bucky went up the stairs.

Bucky found his room that had big B on the door. He knew that had be Cassidy's doing cause both his mom and dad hate that his friends call him Bucky. When he opened the door he saw another above his bed.

He saw the pictures on his shelf. He rolled his eyes but then he picked up the birthday one.

"That's exactly how all this feels. Life feels like a fucking snow globe being shaken over and over again." He thought to himself as he sat down on his bed.

Winnie came in. "Do you like your room honey?" She said

"Sure.." he said as he put the frame back on the shelf.

He went to explore the rest of the floor he saw that they had a theatre room. He knocked on Cassidy's door.

"Come in." She said

He opened the door. "Well this isn't what I expected. I expected more pink and sparkle." He said when he saw her room.

"I'm not that girl anymore." She said as he sat beside her on her bench.

"I wish you would tell me what happened to you. This non CJ spark is boring." He said

She looked down. "Anyways.. please don't tell any one this is going on. I don't want people knowing. So can you do that for me?" He said

"Yeah sure.." she said

"Good. I'm gonna go sleep now." He said then he left the room.
